I hate to repeat myself...but once more...early this morning I was listening to Sporting news radio on XM...a connected fan from K.C. came on and said the deal for Surtain is done...he was correct...by hours before it was released...he also said that the Dolphins will trade out of the 2nd pick to Washington...I really don't believe which team does trade with the Dolphinsmakes much difference ...the picks are appx the same, for Washington's 9th and 25th picks...and then K.C. will trade with Miami trading their 15th pick and Larry Johnson for the 9th pick...so they can acquire Derrick Johnson. The Chiefs need cap space and Johnson is expendable...this way the Dolphins get their running back plus the 15th and 25th picks.

Unlike some people who like to throw B.S. around at other people...I had to take the time to write...considering I have R/A in my hands...it sometimes takes me time.
 
the Skins' #9 and #25 are worth about 2100 points on the value chart. That leaves them about 500 points shy of the 2600 points our #2 is worth. 500 points is equivalent to a high second round pick, so the question is: If Rod Gardner was on the open market, would he be worth a high 2nd rounder?
I think at best Gardner is worth a mid to high 3rd round pick (and thats pushing it) so the Skin's are going to need to sweeten the pot by about 250 points.
The #9, #25, this year's 4th round pick, next year's 3rd round pick, and Rod Gardner would be close enough.

I hope it's not true. I want nothing to do with LJ. IMO he is a product of the KC line. If we do this we will be in the same position next offseason...........looking for a RB worthy of being a starter.

Thats if Saban thinks the picks fits his needs better than fighting for a late round pick...who knows.
 
I stand corrected, pete. You're not fooling me with that BS line, though. I know whose eyes are brown.

LJ is hardly expendable. He has even won the weepy old guy over at this point, and Holmes has repeatedly stated he has considered retirement even before Ricky retired. Combine that with his health, and they have to have a backup. Now that they're down to that 1st and the comp 3rd on the first day that they can't trade, they wouldn't be able to get any sort of backup of a reasonable quality. They'll get some defensive starter for them at 15 -- they have no need to move to 9.

Johnson has seen limited service while at K.C....even still he has the size, speed and hands that Brown has...but one diiference...he has run 2000yds in a season, in college.
 
More picks the better, we need young players.. Hopefully we trade with Vikings or Redskins, I wish redskins include Lavar

He is a product of a great line in KC and is a Penn State back. Ronnie ran in the SEC in college and comes from a school that gave us Bo Jackson and Stephen Davis.

There is no comparison.

All I'm doing is repeating what was said on the show...like I wrote...the guy was right about the Surtain trade...by at least 5 hours...and after Peterson said the deal wasn't going to happen...yesterday. Take it for what it is...but if the trade comes to pass with Washington....well you know the rest.

Ronnie couldn't break thru to start...and ronnie never ran for 2000 yds in a season. I wouldn't discount Penn State...they have a longer and far better history than most SEC schools.

I just think that we can get a better back staying at #9. One of Caddy, Brown or Benson will be there. And I would rather have any of those three before I would want LJ.
