And here's another item...if you research Larry Johnson....he would be a perfect fit in a one back offense....isn't that what the Vikes ran most with Lienhan?
fishypete said:All I'm doing is repeating what was said on the show...like I wrote...the guy was right about the Surtain trade...by at least 5 hours...and after Peterson said the deal wasn't going to happen...yesterday. Take it for what it is...but if the trade comes to pass with Washington....well you know the rest.

WRONG....there are plenty of impact players after the #9 spot. This draft is so deep we could do well to have no first rounders and a half a dozen 2nd rounders. I know it sounds alittle extreme but if you've done your homework on this class of prospects you'd know we could do some real damage in that kind of senario.:cooldude:BLITZKRIEG said:I don't want to trade down beyond #7.....
It's too risky to go down that far, and then miss out on an immediate impact player. Trading with Tampa or Minnesota is our best option. Screw the Skinz, they have nothing we want / need in terms of picks or players IMO....
PHINZ RULE!!!!

Jason La Canfora, of the Washington Post, reports the Washington Redskins could offer their two first-round draft choices (No. 9 and No. 25 overall) along with WR Rod Gardner to the Miami Dolphins for the No. 2 overall draft choice.
****I would love this deal!
We would have tons of options, with these picks and the newly acquired pick from KC. Rod Gardner would be a good 3rd WR with Chambers and Booker. Bye Gilmore!
Jimmy James said:It was reported on ESPN yesterday Peterson was still considering the trade.
I'm going to tell you what I think has happened: this "connected fan" knows a few things, like Peterson had to get a CB. That's why he was probably considering sending that 2nd and the 1st to the Redskins to move up for his guy (probably Rogers). He knows that would be bad value compared to just trading for Surtain. He knows that Miami needs a RB somehow. Based on all of that, he speculated and made it sound really good (like everybody speculating on sports radio does).
fishypete said:I hate to repeat myself...but once more...early this morning I was listening to Sporting news radio on XM...a connected fan from K.C. came on and said the deal for Surtain is done...he was correct...by hours before it was released...he also said that the Dolphins will trade out of the 2nd pick to Washington...I really don't believe which team does trade with the Dolphinsmakes much difference ...the picks are appx the same, for Washington's 9th and 25th picks...and then K.C. will trade with Miami trading their 15th pick and Larry Johnson for the 9th pick...so they can acquire Derrick Johnson. The Chiefs need cap space and Johnson is expendable...this way the Dolphins get their running back plus the 15th and 25th picks.
All good news. I wont sleep a wink tonight.fishypete said:Redskins | Could Package Deal to Move Up to No. 2 Pick

Cowboys | Not Ruling Out Trade Up
Fri, 22 Apr 2005 10:40:28 -0700
Todd Archer, of the Dallas Morning News, reports Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones would not dismiss the idea of trading up with either of their first-round draft choices (No. 11 and No. 20 overall) if they are targeting a specific player and the price is right. "We've gone through some scenarios where we might move up a little bit with that 20th pick," Jones said, "and that first [11th] pick. If a premium is being paid for people to come up, I wouldn't be interested in moving up. If there's good value if people are trying to move down, and we had the opportunity to get a player, we might move that up."

Blackshade said:Those 2000 yards mostly came against the weak Big 10 teams and when Johnson did play against the good Big 10 teams (Ohio St., Michigan) he got jacked and didn't do much. He would have never gotten anywhere near 2000 yards in the SEC. Also before his senior year he was a non factor pretty much for several years on Penn St. teams that for the most part were not that good.
