Merged: Things are heating up....smells like trade cooking./Skins trade?

I have no problem with the idea we would trade with KC or the Redskins. I think trading for Larry would be kind of stupid if certain players are still available, but I can see the logic behind it if they're not there. What I don't see is how this works for the CHIEFS.

As to your snarky little "get a life" comment, I'm not the one listening to Sporting News Radio and defending what some caller says (you are NOT just reporting this -- you have said you believe it).

Your correct...after listening to that caller...and him being out front with the Surtain news...why wouldn't I believe him? Like I said...it does make sense...it gives us a running back we don't have...and two first round picks...what more could a Dolphin fan want? More importantly...I could see Saban being giddy over it...couldn't you? As a stated...from what he heard...the Chiefs are after Derrick Johnson...they see alot of a former Linebacker they once had in him...it makes sense. Will it all happen...I don't have a crystal ball...just a leap of faith. GO PHINS!

P.S. I'm not a chiefs fan....but didn't have a linebacker named Derrick Thomas.

I watched Derrick Thomas. As a kid, I practically worshipped Derrick Thomas. For a period, I was nearly as big a Chiefs fan as I am a Dolphins fan simply because Derrick Thomas was there. Derrick Johnson IS NO Derrick Thomas! :fire:

Against Michigan Johnson had 78 yards on 17 carries. Against Ohio St. he had 16 carries for 66 yards. And against Iowa he had 18 carries for 68 yards. So he had average games against 3 teams not one. If he played like that against the better teams in the SEC he would not reach 1200 yards.

The teams he destroyed were the dregs of the Big 10, Mich. St (19,279), Indiana (28,327), Northwestern (23,257), Illinois (31,279). That is how you get 2000 yards in a season, playing weak teams and having monster days against them.

My info say's 78 yds on 6 carries against Michigan...anyone who can run for 2000 yds...in a short season...can run 1400 yds in a NFL season. And one item more...16, 17, 18 carries for a big back is nothing...how many carries per game did Benson have? Ricky had an avg of 25 carries per game...a running back gets better with more runs. Penn State just didn't use him correctly. The proof of that is look at the amount of carries he had against the other teams you have listed...19, 28, 23, 31.

Hey you could be right...maybe he isn't...but to the Chiefs...he may remind them of him....and after all...what do you care....your a Dolphin fan...right?

Don't know if you have me confused with someone else but I am not a Benson guy, I don't want Benson, although he would be acceptable if Brown and Caddy are gone if we trade down. If the choice is Benson or Johnson I am kind of indifferent but probably would lean to Benson slightly.

Penn St. might not have used Johnson correctly in those games, or perhaps because he was ripping those teams like he did the weaker teams they went away from him and tried other things.

Here is where I got my stats for LJ in his big 2002 season
