The Dolphins' beleaguered offensive line suffered another blow Monday when backup center Wade Smith suffered what is believed a fractured right forearm during a morning practice, a source said.

A timetable for how much playing time he will be forced to miss is not immediately known, but the fact Smith snaps right-handed could delay his return.

Looks like McKinney is our only hope at center.

Dolphins' Smith injures arm during practice

I don't think it's a season ender, just a week maybe..

But THIS is interesting:
Starting right guard Rex Hadnot received some repetitions with the first-team offense during Monday morning's practice. McKinney took Hadnot's spot at right guard.

Well there goes our hope for having a good center.

Isn't "fractured" just another word for "broken"? If so, I think he'll miss more than a week.

yea, I picked that up too...I was hoping we'd get some TC reports to see more about this and how did he do.

Who cares?

This guy, who I once had a lot of hope for over on the left side on the line, is really just taking up space on the practice field. He doesn't have the right demeanor, enough upper body strength or good enough quickness to be a starter at ANY position on the line. Forget about him. Anyway, if you read this article this could actually be a blessing in disguise with Hadnot apparently getting some first team snaps at Center, and McKinney seeing time at Guard, a better, easier fit for him where he would battle St. Clair if Hadnot plays at center the way he has been playing at Guard.

It depends on the severity. Could be just a hairline fracture which with a cast could bring him back in a few weeks.

Think it depends on the degree, since they didn't use the word broken, it could be like a slight break, maybe not all the way though..just surface, we'll have to wait for more info.
