No way. We need to add more quality guys to the secondary not cut em.
 
We need DEPTH at Cornerback... I think releasing Reggie Howard and even Mario Edwards for that matter would be a terrible idea. I though, am all for brining in R.W. McQuarters for interview to see if we see anything special in him, and if so sign him to compete for a starting job. The only thing that I am worried about is that his asking price will most likely be too high, and I am sure that there will be some teams out there that would OVERPAY for him... I for one, don't want to overpay the guy (not like we can financially). We the rookie pool of $4.5 million, the signing of Keith Traylor, and the possible return of Ricky Williams we may very well only have a little money left (Also add in money for June 1st cut... and David Bowens could possibly be on that list) if we are going to sign McQuarters. I'd be all for bringing him for an interview, but I'm absolutely against the idea of releasing Reggie Howard and Mario Edwards... especially considering since we've lost Will Poole for most likely the whole season.
 
Reggie Howard will be fine. He is apparently a very good zone coverage corner. I dont think we need a strarting calibur corner, we just need a little more depth. I also get the feeling Saban really wants to give Daniels a shot at getting on the field in the nickle packages.
 
Maybe becuz Reggie Howard was a solid starting CB on the SB Carolina Panthers....R.W. was cut from the Bears.:shakeno:

I thought McQuarters signed w/ the Redskins? I read that in some thread a couple days ago.
 
I am glad that we are bringing him in for a visit. I am just scared that if we dont sign him when he leaves, then he will sign with the Skins.

He also visited with the Giants earlier this week. Out of those teams, Miami would give him the best chance to start.

I can see him starting for the Giants and maybe starting for the Skins in a year or two. IMO, i dont see him starting for us because i do believe that Poole will take over once he is healthy.

But he can also play safety don't forget. He's versatile like that.
