MERGED: Wannstedt's take on Ricky's return.

Wanny's just bitter. Ricky's return confirms what we knew all along: Wanny is, was, and will probably always be, a horrible negotiator and salesman.

Wanny had a two-year relationship with Ricky and couldn't persuade him to return last season. Saban had four conversations with the guy, and all of a sudden he's back in camp.

Makes Wanny look pretty darn pathetic, doesn't it?

Totally agree, I hope Pitt goes 0-12 this year so I don't have to hear anymore about this guy.. You had your chance and you failed, badly..

ricky also wanted less carries, more money and a new offensive coordinator...now he owes the team 8.6 m...nick saban, scott linehan, hudson houck and ronnie brown are there so now we have real coaches and a rb who wont have a problem sharing the rock...of course he was coming back...

That's not true. I don't think Ricky's decision had anything to do with the offensive coordinator or his workload.

If Ricky didn't want the carries, why did he have an interest in playing for Norv Turner in Oakland?

what can wanny say. I believe he is the true reason Ricky left. There seemed to be a lot of animosity there and I even recall a short discussion about him with the raiders because he enjoyed playing for our old OC Norv Turner. Wanny is a nice guy but that's about it.

Then why didnt Ricky accept the NFL's offer to re-enter the drug program an serve his suspension over the last 4 games of last season? Wanny was already gone by then.

Good article. Sounds like Wanny is doing a great job at Pitt and loving it. There may yet be a happy ending to his career: Reached his Peter Principle level of incompetence in the NFL; went back to college, where he's competent. As much as I hated what he did to the Dolphins, I wish him luck.
No doubt he must have reached for an overdose of tranquilizers when he got the call from Ricky.

Wany said it himself, He set the team up that way. He set them up to fail. Go ruin Pitts football program.

You're right. But if I'd been the coach and I'd had Ricky, I probably would have set the team up around him too.

WAIT! STOP! I'M DEFENDING WANNY! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

You know, they guy who quit after the first guy quit. That's right, you remember him now dont ya. He's the other guy that screwed Miami over last year.

Remember? He's the guy who focused the offense around the other guy (the first guy to quit) last year.

He's the guy everyone hated a lil less than the first guy only now the first guy is loved because he's back which makes everyone hate the second guy a lil more, you know cause noone hates the first guy as much.

Anywayz, Wanny knows Ricky, he catered to Ricky (for Miami), He lived for Ricky (For Miami), He bent over backward for Ricky (again to benefit Miami) and then Ricky dumped on Wanny, Miami and the very sport of Football.

I'm not saying either is better or worse than the other, I think they are both egotistical jerks. But the guy does know the person that Ricky IS.

So read the fricken article and then go back to worshipping the beloved dysfunctional child of Miami.

AND BEING LONG WINDED GETS THIS REPLY IN JUST A LIL LATE!

Wannstedt's a sh!tbag he can talk down about ricky walking out, but atleast he finished the season.......oh wait no he quit to.....to the hell with him and I hope notre damn beats the snot out of them!!:fire:
