I don't know why...but, I sincerely feel bad for the guy. I REALLY wanted him to succeed when he took over as head coach. Yes, I bad-mouthed him to my friends and family (and here) toward the end of his tenor. I will admit that when we beat the Jets in a meaningless last game of the season to make us 10-6 still missing the playoffs, I told anyone (who would listen) that I thought he deserved one more chance. I was definately wrong, but I really want him to succeed at Pitt and hope that he has a successful career there (except when he plays WVU :D ).
 
Dion Byrum scored both TDs for Ohio in that game from INTs. Apparently, he ran a 4.33 clocked by the team and has a recorded 41-inch vert. Put your feelers out on him.

though he appears to have few interceptions.
 
I remember at the beginning of the Notre Dame game this Pitt fan in the stands had a big sign with Wannstedt's picture on it and a caption of "The 'Stache is Back!". Well, he's all yours, dude.
 
It's funny how Pitt was in a BCS Bowl and fired their coach for Wanny. I got no beef with Wanny but I don't understand Pittsburgh creaming themselves to hire this guy. I kind of feel bad for him because I didn't dislike him at any point here in Miami and I think last year he was dealt a bad hand. I'm glad he's gone though because I'm excited about Saban so it all worked out in the end. I hope the best for Wanny the rest of the way although it looks like he's in for another long long season!

Man, that's going way overboard. Dave Wannstedt is one of the greatest defensive minds in the game. He is just not a good head coach. I personally think that he could be the defensive co-ordinator for a Super Bowl winning team right now if given the chance.

Sometimes I just can't believe how bad Wannstedt messed this franchise up. It's impossible to mention the Dolphins in the playoff race this year without other fans laughing. I can't remember any time the Dolphins were out of the playoff race so early as last year. We've only ever had 2 other losing seasons in the past 30 years, since the start of the NFL. Last year was the lowest point of this franchise...

How embarrasing was it to find out how bad we got shafted last year trading a 4th rounder to move up one spot to get Vernon Carey, now knowing that Mike Tice has publically stated that he was bluffing. Or trading a 2nd round pick for a third-string QB who is now, currently, OUR third-string QB. What about a third round pick for Lamar Gordon, who played 3 games, gets injured and sits out rest of the season (who, by the way, gets cut a year later.) Not to mention enormous draft blunders throughout the years (Jamar Fletcher, Eddie Moore, Taylor Whitley)

I believe though that Saban will bring this organization pride again... sorry for this rant but Wannstedt aggravates me so much.
 
Regardless of how sucky of a head coach he is, some ******* NFL GM or NCAA Athletic Director will continue to give him a job and throw a few million dollars down the toilet for the pornstache.

Weren't the they Big East champions last year? weren't they ranked like 19th just two weeks ago? that is not a team needing a big turnaround.
 
Another side note. How must Marino be feeling right now watching Wanny ruin yet another of his beloved former teams?

Last season when all of the rumors had Wanny going to Nebraska, I said he would absolutely RUIN what was left of that once proud team. Lucky for me he went to Pitt instead. What would be true justice is for Pitt to lose every game this season and watch Dave get run out of his hometown after a single season.
