Merged:When and HOW did you become a FinFan?

Was a young chamack...Remember watching Fin games here and there with my uncle..Until the day he took us (me and my cousins) out to the Orange Bowl for an actual game. Fins beat the Colts...Woah...Good experience for kids under 10 cause I've been hooked ever since...Season Tix every year, baby.

Well I was born in 84' and that's the year the Phins went to the superbowl so I guess it was destiny for me to be a Phins fan....or 49ers *ponders* nah, screw San Fran, I'll take Miami. Reason 2 - Dan Marino, period as stated above. Reason 3 - Always hated the Pats even when they sucked, cheered for a division rival. Reason 4 - They always won compared to the Eagles here in Philly, times have changed but I'm a phins fan for life, through all the good and bad times.

When i was like 5 everyone liked the eagles where i live but they sucked so i found out about the dolphins (i liked there colors  and dan marino started to be my favorite player, sence then i've been a dolphins fan while the rest of my family is eagle fans

Born in St. Pertersburg, FL 1970. Moved to Ft. Lauderdale at age one....

During the Dolphins undefeated season, and the following years during the early 70's the Dolphins were huge down here. My parents actually had me wear my QB Bob Griese jersey on picture day in first grade. So as you can see, I was transformed into a Dolphins fan at a very early age....

I didn't realy become a die hard fan, on my own, until the year that QB D. Marino was drafted. I've followed the Dolphins very closely ever since. Today, they are a huge part of my life....

PHINZ RULE!!!

This has probably been asked several times. But just out of curiousity: How, when and why did everyone become Dolphin fans?
Me? I can vaguely remember when I was 5 years old, my brother was a Cowboys fan(yikes) and they were playing Miami. Just to annoy my brother, I kept saying go Dolphins, etc. Miami won the game. After that, I'd beg my dad to buy me Miami Dolphins clothes, pennants, garbage cans, football cards, etc. So I have been a Dolphins fan pretty much all of my life.
Believe it or not, I was 5 years old as well, and we lost to Dallas in the Super Bowl, that 1st year, but then went on to the undefeated season, and back to back Super Bowls. And I remember it all from 5 years old, all through the years of Csonka, Kiick, Morris, Parmelee, Warfield, Griese, the killer B's, every year ! The only regret is we havent won a super Bowl since I was 7. :(

Oh, and I fell in love at 5, with the Dolphins colors is what made me a Fin fan..

In fourth grade, I found out I had the same birthday as Dan Marino (September 15) so he became my favorite player even though I had never seen him play. I started watching the fins then and I loved them. 11 years later, I still love the fins.

Right on Richmond! Just for the record Csonka, Kiick and Warfield went to the WFL - Memphis I believe. What a waste. You probably remember the '74 P.O. loss to the Raiders as I do as the end of the dynasty.

Yeah, you're right, it was the WFL. Well, I never said my memory was perfect (since I have so much to remember!!) But, I do remember the complete sense of loss I felt when they defected. I felt betrayed !! Then, later, Zonk came back, but he was never the same, the team was never the same, and we couldn't recover the glory days. It used to thrill me as much seeing Zonk running over tacklers as I felt years later watching Marino throw TD bombs.....his power was incredible....

I approach this coming year as I have every year since 1966......with hope, optimism and an unyielding belief that this will be the year they win the Super Bowl !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GO FINS !!!!!

When i was 4 yrs old my dad brought home a football movie and i remember seeing larry csonka breaking his nose and later in the game he came back with the "u" bar facemask and lead the dolphins to victory. I kept watching that over and over and then i started liking the dolphins because of that film. And i been a dolphins fan since.

When I was 5, pepsi had this give away with team helmets under every cap, I asked my bro to open the bottle and lo and behold it was a dolphin helmet (fate?) I thought the helmet looked so cool. a couple of sundays later I turn on the tv and phins are playing (sign?), I'm in philly so what were the odds of that happening? Well, anyway a couple of years later there's a big family gathering and and the superbowl is on, it was San Fran and the Phish "hey, I like that team". They got their butts handed to them but I was old enough to know the SB was a big deal. The next year I started following them and realized Dan Marino was the greatest thing since the remote control. one thing that philly fans are, is loyal (which I am to every philly team except the Iggles) I transferred that loyalty to the phins and been hooked (pun intended) since...

First game I ever watched, 6 years old, 72 Super Bowl. Been a fan ever since.

started out as a redskin fan when i was little, cause my dad was, then i realized i didnt know what a redskin was. and i rationalized in my 5 year old mind that i couldnt root for a team that had a mascot i didnt understand. Also at the time, i had just come back from the library with an armful of books about various forms of sea life ( i was a total nerd for reading), and then i was alerted to the fact that there was a TEAM called the DOLPHINS, well, it just seemed too perfect, and the rest as they say, is history.

my friend is a rams fan and always blagged on about the NFL, and i was off school once and i saw there was NFL on. because i am curious, i thjought i would watch it. I liked the dolphins since i was 5 cuz i liked miami, but i never followed them. but the game i saw was the dolphins/dallas game 2 seasons ago when we wooped them;) . that then caught my interest. I liked the shiny helmets and how they threw the ball so damn far. i then watched the NFL weekly review or 'Prime time' and i followed it like a F*cking sheep from then on
