Why spend our best pick on someone that won't play next year

Do we want to win next year or not. If so don't spend the 20th pick in the draft on someone that will be holding a clipboard next year.

That is stupid. Eli could step in and play next year and do better than Fiedler. If Rivers can start next year on opening day then draft him. If not we just hurt our chances for a SB next year.

Last year #1 priority was LT, we get Wade Smith and this year it is QB

That is hillarious.

Are we going to win the SB with a rookie QB.

Can we win three playoff games on the road.

not worthy of a new thread IMSMO

Why not?? It's about future as well as next season. If that were the case, then why have a draft at all??

Exactly. We're ready to win now. A WR or olineman would help us do that. A QB in the first round like Losman or Rivers would just be sitting the bench for at least one year & more than likely two years.

If we want to win and improve for next year we improve the O line and WR positions. Don't forget KR.

We want to win next year and don't forget Ricky is the Offense. Without a O line he sucks.

So if we need OL and WR so bad get them in Free Agency. Rookie WRs do not help your team get to the SuperBowl right away. They have to develop as well. Unless you are Randy Moss. Rookie OL can get you there somewhat, but why not go after Orlando Pace or someone of that nature in Free Agency instead of "wasting" it on the draft.

If Rivers, Carey, and Clayton are there.. you draft Clayton, because he's the better overall player.

I agree about getting a couple olineman via free agency because the draft class isn't very deep in olineman, but there are no FA WRs that are any good. Owens is unaffordable, Meshawn is a cancer, Darrell Jackson can't catch, & Dennis Northcutt isn't a #2 type receiver but I wouldn't mind having him.

Draft players are cheaper on average than FA. Orlando Pace will be pretty expensive whereas a draftee would not be as expensive.

Any rookie WR will be better than Thompson. Next year. The year after. The year after. Until time stops.

Hell Boldin was awesome right away and didn't go until late.

The WR will be a #2 WR. Not a #1 like most of these guys get thrown into. He has to run a route and catch a ball. Much easier than drop back, read the D, go through your progression, wait you just got sacked because Wade Smith missed a block.

Tai Streets. I like him, and when Owens was out, he showed that he can play too.

Yeah, Boldin was awesome, but the didn't even make the playoffs....so

So Boldin Sucks because the Cardinals Suck...

If you use that line of thinking on everything you would conclude Marino was a bust cause he didn't win a ring.

Boldin was awesome last year. That point has no merit.

On good teams, teams with super bowl potential, the rookies dont start at any position. The difference between college and the pros is huge. At best you may see a rookie wr as the 3rd or 4th. Or a rookie O lineman backing up a vet, or a rookie QB backing up a vet. If you are only interested in what will help us win next year then ignore the draft entirely. Scout the FA opportunities rather than starting threads that bash the opinions of others.:yell:
