merged3x:New Orleans/Tenn. paper on Schulters/Come on down Lance.

That's 3 sources now. New Orleans newspaper, fox sports radio and tennesee paper. I think this qualifies now as a good possibility unlike the prior Shulters rumor when only one atlanta website was guessing.

Come on down Shulters :)

I dont know much about Shulters, but I know he will upgrade our secondary vastly. Do you guys think he will be our best DB? If Saban nails him down, I have to say that this offseason, including the draft and coaching hires, has been far batter than I could have even imagined. I realize we have not been on the field yet, but up until this point Saban has been impressive.

He'll be our second best DB behind good ole' #29.

Good news for our defensive backfield.

What an amazing free agency we've had.

I figured, but never really seeing him play I thought I would ask. No disrespect to Sam. He has always been one of my favorites.

Agree.

But this takes our free safety spot from being the worst position in our backfield to 2nd best.

That's an upgrade. Plus, I keep saying this, that Travis Daniels will surprise.
So, while he's still the 4th rated starter (if he starts) out of the 4 spots, I think now the secondary is not as weak as some might suggest.

1. Sam Madison
2. Lance Schulters
3. Tebucky Jones
4. Travis Daniels

He would be a great veteran pickup. The guy can flat out play. I think along with Tebuckey, that they are a very good stopgap until some of our younger players/future draft picks, can step up and take over. I like what Saban has done with our secondary. Losing Surtain hurts but in the future wi will have Poole and Daniels to take over. I wouldn't be surprised if Madison is gone after this season as well.

As another poster said, we now have a lot of sources that are saying Miami is his final destination. Where there is smoke, there is usually fire ( with the exception being my BBQ tonight....damn piece of crap not working properly! ) and there seems to be a lot of smoke billowing in the colors of Miami...or something.

(Hehe, I honestly thought you ment Armstrong with the thread title)

I am just curious about something, I know that the idea was that we would move Tebucky jones back to SS since that was his more natural position, but if we bring Schulters in, that means Jones is back at FS and wasn't he supposed to not be that good of a FS?

No, Lance is a free safety.
