Well put. :D

I'm seriously laughing at my desk right now. Imagine if Dan could have scrambled.

jdang307 vbmenu_register("postmenu_1061394147", true); He could scrambl, he was one of if not the best at buying time.He was sick at moving around and not getting hit, one of if not the best ever, at that..........but yes he was not a Vick.

could you imagine the team we would have if Wannstedt didnt **** everything up... i believe the year we drafted Jamar Fletcher in the 1st round we passed on Brees. the year we got Eddie Moore we passed on Anquan Boldin. We need to start getting the best talent available instead of pieces of the puzzle.. if i believe draft you get future TALENT and free agency you get the pieces of the puzzle... i thought that's how it worked? i guess not in Miami since all of our rookies play in their first year

Marino thought and still thinks that Rivers is one of a kind, and he wanted us to get him in the draft. They or Dave told him that, that wasn't going to happen so i think thats part of why he no longer works for the Dolphins.
Good Point. I remember them showing Dan at the Senior Bowl, and scouting I believe Rivers, in the cold, wearing a Jacket and holding a cup of coffee early in the morning. Then, as quickly as he came, he was gone. Could you imagine, we wasted a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th that year. (2nd) Wade Smith to Patriots, I don't remember us having a third that year, and the 4th was to jump up 1 spot to get Vernon Carey. You put that first, 2nd, 4th, and probably something else, and you might have a chance to get Rivers. Though it's good we didn't trade the first rounder the next year, because it was the #2 overall. Man, our drafting has been absolutely horrible. I mean, it's still angers me, and I thought I was starting to get over the Wannspeil days.

There will never be another Dan Marino. :dolphins:

Actually, the Miami Dolphins were fresh off a Super Bowl appearance and AFC Champions when Dan Marino was a rookie in 1983. Not saying that Dan had a running back anywhere near LT's caliber EVER in his career, but the 1983 Dolphins were hardly a shabby team.
well did dan through it 13 times a game for a win??????? and hand off to ann alll pro RB 40 times a game???????? nope, i agree with u tho never had an rb of Lt's caliber, and i didnt say that team was no good i just stated that he didnt have a defense or a runnning game like the chargers have this year!!!

Uh, in order for Dan to be reincarnated he would've had to have died first. He is skinnier but I think he's still breathing.......

That a load of crap. I dont even think Rivers has looked that good this year, honestly. I think he throws a LOT of jump balls. But time will tell how good he can be. The next Dan Marino, i think not.

100 agreed i think it was bill belichick(might be wrong) who said, when you draft out of necessity or to fit pieces together your in trouble

it is true, i mean if you have a drew brees on the board and you do not have a good starting qb, you need to take him

or wr or whatever

we are still paying for wanny's **** ups

as for rivers i said it before the giants(my second fave team) should have picked him over eli, i know eli is going to be a very good qb but i think rivers is going to be a elite qb

but he is no dan marino, there will be only one dan marino, i just wish dan could have had a tomlinson caliber RB during his career

P. Rivers is the riencarnated Dan Marino. Although i can't agree fully, that's a great compliment.

Hoge also said that neither Vince Young or Leinart were worth a 1st round pick, and that Kellen Clemens was the best QB in the last draft...

Hoge did not say that....That was Jaws...

Rivers has an extremely impressive NCAA career (despite being on a not-so-great team).....and now that's he's finally been given his chance in the NFL...he is doing extremely well. I only expect him to improve moving forward. He'll be a great QB for a decade+ barring major injury imho.
