Miami Dolphins 2014 schedule

An advantage of playing NE in the first game is that Belichick has no idea what to expect from our new offense. One of the strengths of the Pat has been their analysis of other teams. They wont have that advantage in the 1st half of the opener.

We 1 predicates how our first 8 games will go. If we can beat the Pats to open up, the players will buy into winning so early that they'll have a full head of steam through the midway point at the very least!
So just like last year, right?

I love that we are playing the Patisies 1st! It's a great game to see how far we have progressed as a team. I know our guys are working hard already, but I see this as extra motivation because in our division, the Patsies are king of the hill. It's time to knock them off. Plus if we win, it will give us a little swag when we go up to Buffalo the following week. :-)
Beating the Pats in week 1 will motivate us to beat the Bills? I seem to remember the very real possibility of a playoff spot not being enough to motivate us to beat the Bills.

This team just does not draw the marquee matchups right now. NFL office is not impressed with our QB.
Posts like this should come with a laugh track.

In the last decade, how many teams have beaten the Pats in week 1 because of that "advantage"?

I'm a bit confused. We finished equal with the Jets in terms of both winning 8 games last season. This year we get to play Baltimore (finished 2nd in their AFC North). We get to play Jacksonville (finished 3rd in their AFC Central), while the Jets play Pittsburgh (finished 3rd) and Tennessee (finished 2nd).
I'm not complaining that we get Jax but how do they determine the other AFC teams when finish level like we did with the Jets last season?

We considering there is no AFC Central, that might be the first part of your problem.

You are right though. We should be playing Pittsburgh and not Baltimore.

The Jets finished in 2nd place based on tiebreakers and Pitt finished in 2nd based on tiebreakers so we play the 2nd place teams from the North and South which turn out to be Pitt and Ten. Youi guys finished 3rd based on tiebreakers so you got Bal and Jax

So you think its not an advantage that NE doesnt have tape on our new offense?

Again, in the last decade, how many teams have seen this "advantage" translate into a win? You're claiming it gives opposing teams an edge, so I'm wondering how many times that edge has led to a NE defeat.

Have to say....would rather have Baltimore and Jax....

Dont even start your bs with me today. I dont know the circumstances surrounding all the other teams NE has faced throughout the years, but you can start here if you are really interested: https://www.google.com/

And I didnt say anything about "advantages translating to wins". Team with advantages lose all the time, and it doesnt mean they didnt have an advantage in a particular category.

I think they are close, I expect Bal to be better than Pitt but I think Jax is going to be a lot better so they could be better than Ten. we'll see, you just never know.

So perhaps what you're describing as an advantage isn't really much of an advantage at all. A smaller person has an advantage in a gunfight since they're a smaller target but if the larger person is a better shot, that advantage doesn't really amount to much. The last time NE lost a season opener was in 2003 ...so much for what you call an "advantage."

What the hell are you blabbing.....gun fights?

So because NE hasn't lost a season opener in the past 10 years, that means no team has ever had any advantage in any category over them? Perhaps you just don't understand football. I don't subscribe to your absolutism and I am not here to educate you on matchups or strategies, so please move along.

Everything is booked and paid for my trip to London.

Should be a good time. Hopefully the Dolphins don't ruin it.

I live in the UK and will be at this game vs the Raiders sat on the Dolphins lower sideline.. I hope we do better than the last time I saw them play here.. vs the Giants with Cleo Lemon at QB in 2007.. the year we should never talk about.. fail forward fast huh...

I think, looking at this 'horrible' schedule that we go 7-9 or more likely 8-8

We call that an analogy.

It means no team has had an advantage that has resulted in a win in the past 10 years. The flip side is that teams have 10+ years of film on New England, Brady, Belichick, etc. yet NE keeps winning openers and going to the playoffs.
