Miami Dolphins 2014 schedule

We call that an analogy.

It means no team has had an advantage that has resulted in a win in the past 10 years. The flip side is that teams have 10+ years of film on New England, Brady, Belichick, etc. yet NE keeps winning openers and going to the playoffs.

I didnt say "we will win because NE doesnt have tape of our offense", I said "we have an advantage because NE doesn't have tape of our offense". An advantage and a win is not the same thing....pay attention. Seriously man, do you come here to start **** with people every day or are you here to talk about football? You are talking about NE's 10 year win streak, and I'm talking about a competitive advantage in 1 game within 1 category. If you are going to argue for the sake of arguing, at least compare apple to apples.

And and analogy is a comparison between two thing that are alike. Gunfighting and football are not alike in any way.

Not seeing the offense before the game is an advantage for Miami. So is the September 1pm start at home, history shows that to be a big advantage for the Dolphins. The Patsies have a long winning streak on opening day but they all end

There are big advantages and there are small advantages. This one doesn't sound like it amounts to much.

You're upset about my sig quotes, aren't you?

So after all that BS of you challenging my statement where I said we have an advantage with a new and unknown offense, you actually agree that its an advanatge.....:bobdole:

I dont give a rats ass whats in your signature.

Belichick is a great gameplanner and he typically destroys the opposing defensive coordinators adjustments but he really does nothing with his own defense and plays the same vanilla, bend but don't break defense on almost every down regardless of who he's playing or what is on film (this may sound counter intuitive, especially considering Belichick is a d-coordinator at heart, but if you think about it it makes perfect sense). So like hooooops said, short of us doing something he's never seen in the NFL before or something completely unexpected (like read option every down in a Chip Kelly type hurry up for instance) Lazor won't have much of an impact on his game plan.

a up tempo offense from the get go sure would help things...but with all this new offensive install etc i doubt it would be ready to go week 1...but it sure would help...get after teams with tempo...something i was screaming for half way thru 2013 even...

should have gone with more no huddle and quick snap etc to throw off personnel substitutions and add more chance for confusion from the defense and exploit mismatches

I thought that was the whole goal and why they wanted WR that could play any position....to give options and run the no huddle...

My theory is Wallace is too stupid to do all of the things we want to do with him on offense, thats why we didn't move him around more and partially why we can't run the no huddle as much as we would like. If Wallace had been a first round draft pick instead of the $60 million dollar man I doubt he wouldn't have gotten all the snaps he did.

Something can be said about smart football players....maybe give him a communication helmet..."Now Mike on this play you are going to a stop and go" "On this play you are going to cut off the CB"

An insignificant advantage. As much of an advantage as being the shorter guy in gun fight against a more talented opponent. Oh wait, you didn't understand that one ...let me give you another. It's an advantage in the same sense that a 6'6" boxer would have a reach advantage over a 5'8" boxer, but if the taller guy isn't very strong or fast or talented, and the shorter guy is quite a bit stronger, faster, and more talented, the reach advantage doesn't really amount to much.

Also, I'm not sure why you'd mention it as an advantage if you weren't implying that it was an advantage that would translate into a win for us.

You sure sound angry.

No offense buddy, but I'm in no mood to argue with a fool about gunfights and boxing. If you can't understand how having no previous knowledge of our offense could be a disadvantage for a defense trying to prepare for us (which is an extremely simple concept for most football fans), then you should probably move on to another sport.

I like Philbin but this has been my biggest disappointment with him. If he feels like an uptempo offense will help then he needs to figure out how to get it done, no excuses.

I think his anger is more rooted in the fact that some part of his logical mind understands rational arguments, but he wont allow himself to acknowledge anything that doesnt fit his already formed pro-Dolphins opinions.

Your sig does sum up Zounds brilliantly though.

Look man...I understand youre trying to be a good fan or whatever, but think about it. Our OC has been an OC before at UVA a few years ago. Im sure anyone can learn a bit about what Lazor likes to do based on his stint there. Youre also not considering that our own players may not be fully up to speed on every aspect of Lazor's offense. Plus, save for the OL, we are trotting out almost the same offense that we did a year ago. Same guys. Same strengths. Same weaknesses. The O has to work aspects of his offense around the personnel he has. Bill B knows what we can do and what we cant.

Im not going to say we cant win. If Tannehill comes out improved over last year we can make some noise. But I just dont see how have a new OC is a significant advantage.
