Miami Dolphins 5th round pick (#155) - Arthur Lynch TE

Arthur Lynch | TE, Georgia
Lynch may not be the new-age field-stretching hybrid TE/WR type, but he's a reliable short-to-mid range pass-catcher, and has nice upside as an in-line blocker in the running game.

this is such a FH post
How so? We just drafted a guy to do the exact same thing we drafted Sims to do? Does that mean the staff doesn't think he can fit that role? It's a legitimate question. Why do people make sarcastic comments on here that add no value? Your post isn't funny.

So does this mean Sims is a wasted pick, I thought he was our blocking/receiving TE? And is Egnew a goner? No way we carry 4, right?

No sims had a decent year last year as a rookie. Running plays on two tight end sets will be sims and lynch. Clay will be more of a flex player. Egnew is most likely gone unless you somehow turns into jimmy graham in the offseason.

The Dolphins had to find an intermediate target for Ryan Tannehill. Arthur Lynch makes sense in the fifth round. This isn't a great pick, but it makes a lot of sense.

I like the pick. (Stanford Coach) David Shaw said you want guys who come to play on game day & always keep improving; AL is just that.

Lynch is Fasano 2.0; Clay is H-Back i.e. Cooley (Redskins). I bet Egnew stays & Kyle Miller goes.

Hickey is picking tough hard working productive guys that are leaders.

Two new OL , a receiver who likes to block , a solid blocking TE , free agent Moreno who's a good blocker. I'm seeing a theme here.

Block somebody and the big plays will come.

I hope he can help with the run game at some point.

I don't think you can overstate how valuable Fasano was in hindsight. Even with our OL sucking badly with Fasano and Javorskie we still might have made the POs. If this guy can block and keep the Ds honest because of his height and maybe snare a couple of RZ jump balls with our other weapons healthy, I'd be delighted..with anything else being icing on the cake!

What this pick suggests to me: we were targeting Troy Niklas in the second and the Cardinals grabbed him out from under our noses.

Fills two needs. One of our major weakness last year in pass blocking came from our rb's and te's. This guy also has some size for goal line situations.
