Brian Flores officially hired 16 assistant coaches to join him in his mission to turn around the Miami Dolphins, including Jim Caldwell as his assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach.

Caldwell is currently the most experienced coach on the Dolphins staff and he'll be a sounding board for Flores, a first-time head coach. Caldwell returns to the NFL after sitting out the 2018 season.

Was luke warm about Flores about 3 weeks ago. Jury is still out. But I'm digging the way this staff is shaping up. Lot of experience across the board. Lot of good people to bounce ideas off of in the meeting rooms. Hopefully they are great teachers as well. This may not translate into immediate success on the field but could lay a solid foundation for our football team.

So a new coach hires a bad one to be bad. Cool

Jim Caldwell has proven to be a very effective OC over the years, it just hasn’t translated into success as a HC (although he certainly hasn’t been a complete failure as a HC either).

I honestly think its a really good hire.

Caldwell was a solid head coach, if Flores wanted him, fine. But... who the heck are all the other coaches? Who is Patrick Graham, our new DC, for example? Never heard of a single one of them.
