Joe should be as accountable as anyone in the building. He was higher on the chopping block than Ireland for me, both deserved to be canned tho. We had enough talent in place. With a new OC in the fold I think some of Philbin's deficiencies can be masked, Sherman slaughtered this offense. It would also be nice if a GM like this comes in because it would hopefully lead to changing this blocking scheme. I feel like a guy who has a history of drafting linemen like Warmack who are more power guys would like to be looking at guys like they've drafted in the past.

It's not that simple. Your coach is responsible for the scheme the team runs. The scheme can make a QB great or totally handcuff them.

They clearly botched their evaluation on Martin. On top of that they're running a blocking scheme that doesn't really suit a lot of their personnel. You can once again look at the OC and the coaching, the cadence, the fact they wouldn't leave guys into block at TE to help the tackles. You can look at that Bills game and there's that one play where the DB blows by McKinnie, that's coaching not tackle play. The cadence tipped off the rusher, they had more rushers than we had blockers and you can see that. A great OC goes a long way when your coach doesn't excel at play calling (or do it at all).

For Philbin supporters, they will always point out that the GM sucks, the QB sucks, the owner sucks, the OC sucks, the free agents suck, the cheerleaders suck, the beer guy sucks….never is Joe accountable.

You're right about Joe. Any thoughts on who Miami should have brought in to coach as opposed to Joe?
