Long was kind enough to stop and talk to reporters for a few moments on returning to work.
“It feels really good,” Long said. “We’ve got a good team. A lot of great guys came out here today and started strong. It feels good to be back out.”
Long said the adjustment to a new offense has been simplified with single words to help learn the system.
“One word plays,” Long said. “We just get up and go. Everyone knows where they’re going so it’s nice.”
The new offense has been referred to as a West Coast offense. When Dolphins coach Joe Philbin was asked what’s the name for the offense, he turned on the reporter and said, “We will let you guys figure out a name for it, I don’t know.”
Long is already giving it a thumbs up to whatever it’s called in terms of competitive advantage.

“It’s nice. We can keep defenses on their toes,” Long said. “Once we get it going and hit on every cylinder we’re gonna confuse and hurt a lot of defenses.”
The question is...how many cylinders will this offense have. 2, 4, 6, 8 or 12.

Hopefully we can go from Sparano's offense:

to Sherman's (hopeful) offense with a V12:

Can't fathom why any news outlet would feel the need to manufacture drama this close to the draft, but he didn't "turn" on anybody, he answered the question very courteously & calmly.

if you can count to four, you can understand the offense

I don't think that was an attempt at manufacturing drama. Looks to me like the author probably just chose the wrong preposition.

one of the best answers/posts i have read in a while. Straight to the point, no hiding or vague BS.

Keeping the players healthy will be the key to the season. If we have too many injuries to key guys, that will be to much to over come.
It is good to see Jake back at full strength.

I am glad that we are going away from the old school offense that Parcells brought here. Throw the ball boys!

****ing Meatball playing Jake in that 4th 2010 exhibition game. Moronic !
Won't happen this year Vaark. Sounds like Long is the healthiest he's been in a while so maybe some good will come of it.
