It's kind of funny that not having a starting caliber quarterback qualifies as being on the right path.

yeah I think that's a silly thing to say that we're on the right path when we havehno cluecwhat the fo isidoing yet. We will not know if weware on the right path until we see the draft and we see the roster assembled. I hate the retention of Grier based on his history here but in some ways he gets a somewhat clean slate

The coach style of play calling really dictate how good an QB could be, Elite QBs make plays when there's no plays to be made over and over and they will their team to victory when all is lost(Dan Marino, Tom Brady) how many of those QB's are even in the league?
