Miami fans and Jets fans views of good QB.

Fumbling at the 2 when a FG puts you up 2 scores is definitely worse. Henne had to make a play and failed. Romo would have been better off kneeling it.

You're definitely wrong, its not even close. Why didn't they just kick a field goal on third down?

In Henne's case he would have been better off throwing it at the DBs back. He would have gotten a PI a lot of the time because the DB wasn't even trying to look for the ball and Hartline would have had at least a chance at making the catch. Henne just didn't understand the situation, throwing an uncatchable ball is the same as just handing the ball to the Patriots in that situation. There isn't an elite or even good QB in the league that would make that throw in that situation.

It may sound like I'm hating on Henne but I'm really not, if he can play like that all year I think we can win 9 games which is an upgrade from the 6 I predicted pre-season. I just think its funny that Romo is the goat of the NFL and Henne is getting praised but the reality is Romo is still much better than Henne. I think Henne can help the team win now as opposed to the team winning in spite of him but I`m still not going to say he can carry the team on his back for a win.

I don't even think 'junc' will stop by for this one.

He will be here, and point out that the Jets have been to 2 AFCC games in the last 2 years under Sanchez. :chuckle:

Yup, its all relative.

Look at Romo, he's getting murdered by the media because of a few bone headed plays, and maybe its well deserved. On the other hand Henne is getting praised for his 400 yard performance in whats being called a career game for him, and its true, he looked much better than usual..

But let me ask this, was Romo's fumble at the 2 any worse than Henne throwing it out of the end zone on that 4th down play to Hartline? At least Romo had the lead and losing the ball at the 2 like he did isn't going to happen very often. In Henne's case he was behind by a touchdown but whats worse is throwing an uncatchable on 4th down is going to result in a turnover on downs close to 100%.

Again its all relative, Henne was so poor last year that we're willing to settle for a mediocre performance, hell some are even praising him. For me personally, I'm going to hold back any excitement until he starts playing like that and WINNING.

I disagree. A QB can not win a game on his own, but he sure can lose it on his own. Romo lost that game on his own. Henne played well enough for us to win that game and that is all you can ask from the QB. Had the defense been a shadow of what it was last year, the Dolphins win. If all you needed was a great QB to win, Marino would have multiple SB rings, but it takes more than that.

The Jets fans think Henne sucks and Miami fans know Sancheez sucks..
What else can be said....

So now Henne's performance is mediocre. Wow :bobdole:

Romo's mistake was far worse. All he needed to do was kneel, and the Cowboys probably win, while Chad on the other hand had a bit more to think about.

For Chad it was still early, but 4th down, but if he forces it and it's an INT, the Pats get the ball on the 20, the plan was to throw a low risk pass (Yes the pass was horrible) so it either gets caught for a TD or the Pats get the ball on the 1st yards line.

Obviously giving the ball to the Pats (& Brady) on the 1 yard line was a mistake, but getting the Pats on the 1 yard line should have worked in Miami's favor if the defense had played better.

I think we'll end up seeing this season that Henne is clearly the better QB - he's going to have a significantly higher rating than Sanchez. However, the Jets may do better as a team, so nothing will be settled.

Who cares, he(sanchez) obviously makes "enough" plays for his "team" to win, even if thats throwing 2 picks instead of 3 LOL. In all seriousness henne's individual performance is kinda cool but who cares if its in a loss... Ill take his buffalo performance last year (9 for 15 160 yards no TD's no Picks) in a win instead of 400 yards in a loss...

.

I can't believe some of you people are suggesting its worse to fumble at the 2 on third down with the lead than it is to fumble on 4th down and behind. Are you serious? Thats so ridiculous you might as well just say "its better to be behind than ahead". I know Henne didn't fumble but throwing the ball away on 4th down is effectively the same as fumbling.

As for the mediocre comment, if it makes you sleep better at night to say Henne is the second best QB in the league then go right ahead. In my mind if you miss a good opportunity to get your team back in the game, the only opportunity as it turned out, you didn't play great.

how can you equate an attempt at scoring on 4th down with a fumble? other than being the last play of our possession there is no similarities in how they affect the game

Next you will say that throwing a INT on a 40 yard bomb is the same as punting the ball.
