Miami –Indi: A contrast in developing young quaterbacks

I never took a side on the matter but whats dumb is we had nothing to lose except a few games while they risked losing one of the best QBs of all time.

Yep. Give credit to the Colts owners. They always get their staff to silently tank whenever a sure fire QB comes out of college.

Elle Clouds.

You mention Keller and Gibson. One didn't play all year and the other got hurt halfway thru.

Anyways LOL@ the op. With Luck this team has double digit wins.

For those people saying Luck won the game BS. The Chiefs lost it. Andy Reid being the same Andy Reid in the playoffs. Come on that fumble that Luck picked up for a TD was such a lucky thing lol. Trent Richardson is a horrible trade and the GM should be axed for that. We have Wallace, Hartline, Gibson and Clay (Clay over any of their TE). We have ****ty OC and Coach that cost us many games.

The fact that you suggest the fans can control a team tanking is ridiculous.

lol yall crack me up Tannehill is not the problem oc and o-line were the problem hes a dangerous qb when o-line gives him room to throw too bad our oc calls silly plays whoever thinks Tannehill is not good probably has been smoking all that good stuff.

Also Miami's D is not good.

Pretty average actually. Can't stop elite qbs and lousy qbs have no trouble driving 80 yards.

Just two years removed from the worst season by any team since the 2008 Lions, the Colts look like a team ready to rise to the top of the league. Miami on the other hand, traded their best wide receiver away but failed to replace him. Drafted tackle that will never play a down for the team again followed by a TE who was inactive for 12 games in 2012....results, 2 straight years of missing playoffs.

They are moving forward. We're moving laterally. You have to draft right, and retain the talent once you draft them. All we're doing is exchanging bodies. Marshall out, Wallace in. Bush out, Miller in. Vonte Davis out, Patterson in. Long out, McKinnie in. Ireland said that patience is needed because everything built up to last year, being in good cap position and having a slew of draft picks. But then, we blew the draft.

I also have a new appreciation for the Parcells way of big/strong/quick. Because so far finesse is not working out. It can work, New England does it, but we haven't mastered it yet. Philbin has another year to figure it out, before we tear it down and start over.

In year three, hopefully Ireland has a better draft, Philbin as an inexperienced coach makes some better decisions, and Tannehill develops. I mean, just watching the playoffs you see all the QB's and they are light years ahead of him. Except for guys like Dalton, of course. If I was a Bengals fan I wouldn't be too happy right now.

Ding, ding, ding.

What do John Elway, Peyton Manning, and Andrew Luck all have in common?

That's my attitude going into next year.

Win win if Tanny improves or if he fails.

Also Jeff George, who was also considered a can't miss prospect (didn't turn out that way, but he was thought of that way coming out).

I like the idea of drafting young playmakers to develop with your young QB. Too bad Ireland doesn't.

I'd like to be able to root against that snake of a franchise but how can you not love Luck?
