Miami partisans get carried away.....more reason to dislike the bills

The local media in Buffalo who cover the bills are not Homers. They have been very critical of the bills and their GM and coaches over the last several years. The reaction to the article in question is what I would expect. Any media who says anything that is construed as negative or critical gets bashed to the high heavens on this site and considered "dolphin haters" and any medai praising the dolphins or their players is considered gospel.

As it effing should be. I am sick of this idea that fans should be logical and reasonable. Mostly since the idea of being a fan of a football team defies all logic and reason in the first place.

The Bills were 0-for-the-decade against Miami. That's 20 games, folks! Think about this. Can you imagine the Dolphins not beating a division rival in more than 10 years? Could there possibly be anything more embarrasing?
-Never has one team so dominated another for so long.
-Remember how bad that Jet Hex thing was? Nine games. That was only four-and-a-half seasons. Our Bills' dominance was more than twice that long. Imagine how Bills fans must've felt! :rofl3:

The bottom line is all Bills fans (past and present) are inherently bitter about this and no matter what they do against us (and let's face it, they have dealt us some bitter defeats over the past 15 years), it always sits in the back of their minds - like a scar!

The bills fans felt like this:

Geez, some of you guys are too much, the guys a sports writer in Buffalo and writes an article praising the Bills and hooting on the Dolphins and you guys act suprised? Of course he's going to do that because his readers will eat it up.

I've been a Dolphin fan since 1970, saw them play their perfect season, rode the ups and downs. I saw the trainwreck coming last year and when I pointed it out I was flamed on this board.

Some of you guys are rediculous in predicting SB wins, 14-2 seasons, etc. for this season. Yeah, sometimes teams go from last to first but that's always solid teams that due to injuries, bad bounces, etc. the team unravels and their record stinks.

This is a team that Wanny/Spielman ran into the ground with poor drafts and trades and it's going to take a couple years to get back on track. Lets let Saban get a few games/seasons under his belt before we proclaim him the 2nd coming of Shula.

From what I see, he and the front office are making the right moves between players and coaches, none of the Wanny/Spielman WFT?!?!? that the last couple of years brought.

Be patient and please, fdon't talk trash when your team finished 4-12 last year.

and FWIW, going to as many Dolphins games as I have, Bills fans were the absolute worst, worse than the Jets, Giants, Redskins, etc. Obnoxious even when getting thier *** handed to them, chucking food, batteries, snowballs, whatever at the players on the sideline. Just a complete lack of class was shown be them ever time the Bills/Dolphins played.

so you agree that bill fans are the worst
How can I disagree with his opinion based on his presonal experience? I say finfans are the worst based on my experience watching games at fins home games.

good point, football wouldn't be football if the home team fans weren't the worst

Normally I hate Larry Felser. I've had to read his blather for over 20 years. I took a slightly different read on this article. He trashed Fin fans a bit, but he also cautioned that Bills fans should be wo quick to chalk up the games against the Fins as victories:

Well, yes, but it's more complicated than that. For one thing, neither Buffalo victory last season was a walk in the park. In the 20-13 win at The Ralph, Miami led at halftime. The 42-32 result in the Florida rematch was a competitive game with less than two minutes to play until Pat Williams intercepted an A.J. Feeley pass and rumbled 20 yards for a touchdown.

Most of you guys want to quote the past and rest on some non-existant laurels. Meaning nothing exists right now. Every team in the NFL is now 0-0-0. It's anybodys game right now. I don't think about the SB losses. I don't think about sweeping the Fins in 04. I DO think about THIS year and what may come. If JP plays up to par, you Fins and the rest of the league have a lot to worry about. Our 0-4 start last year had a lot to do with having a rookie HC. You'll experience the same pains. Bledsoe was a liability, not an asset. This year JP? Who knows? I don't have a crystal ball. I will say I'm looking forward to this season as you guys are looking forward to your revamped Fins. Most in Buffalo are entering the sesaon with "guarded" enthuiasm, as it should be. I think many of you do the same.

Good luck with the season. Talk to you after we play.

Dogtag out.

One thing to keep in mind about Buffalo. We may have Ricky Williams, but they had OJ Simpson

Oh puhlease. That was a postive statement that you are whining about.

Ever hear the term "damning with faint praise"? Houck deserves the recognition his accomplishments warrent. If there is another O-line coach in the NFL right now who has done more with less, feel free to make the argument in favor of that other coach. If not, than give the man his due and quit YOUR whinning Justa. Sheesh! :shakeno:

I'll take a stab at that . Buff has Jim "Mouse "McNally. He's one of the most respected O-line coaches in the league. Houck is respected as well. McNally did a bang up job turning scrubs into a pretty respecatable O-line Unit in NY with the Giants a couple years back. Tough to tout one over the other. But I give the edge to McNally. ( Would you expect less from a bills fan ).

Give him his credit where credit is due? He had the best rb in the nfl , Te and a probowl qb which all made his Ol look better than it really was.

Whether he is the best or one of the best is a matter of opinion. Don't whine because the writer didn't say he is the best. Right now no one knows what your OL is gonna look like.

It happens everywhere but it is comical here since you guys have had mroe than enough praise thrown your way fro doing nothing over the past decade/ From '97-'03 every year you were a SB favorites int he AFC according to the "experts" yet you didn't come close one time but they kept picking you then when you have all the problems you had last offseason everyone was so offended people picked you in last and this year it looks like it's a 3 team race(NE,NYJ,Buf) and Miami fans are offended by that. It does happen on every board but it is defintiely worse here.

Maybe we have gotten praise because we have been competitive all this time (Which is unheard of), we were getting all the praise because until last year we were averaging 10 wins a season, had a top 5 Defense, one of the best RBs in football, one of the best TEs in football, a young reciever that was probably (Aside from Moulds...and he is getting up there in age) the most talented WR in AFC east, and a QB that was a joke, yet kept getting it done (Thanks mostly to the Defense and Running).

Pretty much like in the early 80s, when your Jets kept being picked to win the East, and go to the Superbowl, yet it was Miami that kept finishing 1st in the east and going to the superbowl.

Don't be upset because Miami is thought of in a higher position then your team, Just last year (Before July), Miami was thought of as a better team then yours, they have one bad year because of players missing, players hurt, and incompitent Coaches (Problems no longer with the Dolphins), and this year, all of a sudden the Jets are better.....Fine, I am not getting upset with that, I say start the season, let Miami prove how wrong the so called experts are in week 2. You should do the same, unless you think that you need to talk for your team, because on week 2, they will not be able to do it? :D
