Miami still healing from poor drafts

so i guess your point is we have no luck in the draft

I agree with the OP's basic premise that Miami's draft record from 2002-2007 was horrendous. However, to use this as a justification to criticize the current FO is flawed. In plain and simple terms, they were not here. The blame goes squarely on the shoulders of Dave W./ Rick Spielman, Nick Saban, Randy Mueller/Cam Camerion. They were the guys that traded away multiple picks for Ricky Williams & multiple QB's that didn't pan out.

The current FO inherited this team with virtually ZERO young talent and had to start over from scratch and replace almost every player on the team. They have done it mostly through the draft and have hit on far more picks than they missed. Just because a guy does not make the pro bowl does not make him a bust. Teams are built with solid players that fill starting roles and back ups that can come in and not let you down. You may not like that we have only drafted 2 QB's but it was this FO that drafted them. At least they drafted them and didn't give those picks to another team for their garbage. I will admit that the Pat White pick was terrible but Henne is still here and is starting. Still to soon to call him a bust. People can whine and cry all they want about the trade not going through for Orton but I can respect Ireland for not repeating the same mistakes that the 3 previous front offices made in mortgaging this franchise's future for another stop gap QB out of desperation.

Channing may not have been a super star but he wasn't a bust either. The guy was a 5 year starter and amassed multiple 100 tackle seasons. Yes he wasn't a player maker and didn't put up the sexy stats (INT and Sacks) but he was hardly a bust.

Yea, just disregard the fact that more than half of the players you named are no longer on the team.

What he was saying was that if more of those players had not been busts and turned out to be decent players, we might not be as big of a joke today.

The problem from looking at that is we have had a series of front offices that have failed in rapid succession since don shula left. Jimmy counts in there...
so i guess your point is we have no LUCK in the draft
Lets hope next year is different...wink wink, nudge nudge...

As a general comment, I would say games are lost in the front office as well as the field.

That's depressing, although I wouldn't call Ronnie a bust. Just because you don't live up to where you were drafted doesn't exactly make you a bust.

I would say it was a poor pick for the number 2 overall pick, we passed on Aaron Rodgers and many others.

Ronnie never lived up that status, he was what he was at Auburn, a part time player.

I see Crowder as a bust because the FO sees him as a bust as they cut him. If he wasn't a bust, he wouldn't be retired right now imo.
