In defense of Will Davis.... Brady looks for a perceived weakness and goes after it. Davis is a rookie going against one of the best passing teams in the NFL. On top of that, Davis has gotten little to no game experience going into this game, where he is thrust in by injury. Thomas actually has MORE experience in that he is nearing his second year in the NFL. I am thankful for Thomas but not ready to give up on Davis yet.

Good post, and it really is great to see either Davis or Taylor on the field for more than one play. He was off on his coverage, but it's not like he got beat 40 yards downfield to give the game away, and he certainly wasn't any worse than the way Jimmy Wilson and the other Dolphin defenders looked as they watched a Patriot stream between them all for a TD nearly untouched.

Great player. Earned a spot on the roster for 2014/15. Cut Jmmy Wilson.

Jimmy Wilson's "effort" on that last touchdown by the Patriots says it all. Cut this dud.

This is going to sound insane but I feel better about Will Davis than I do Jamar Taylor. I have absolutely no basis minus I like Davis's attitude about attacking the ball. A gambler, like Grimes and Patterson.

We talked about Michael Thomas when the Dolphins picked him up. The 49ers really liked him. He can cover the slot and play safety.

He doesn't look like one of these typical DB scrub acorns like RJ Stanford or Brian McCann, et al. The guy could be a starter in this league eventually, maybe at FS in Miami. He is well put together physically, he can tackle, he has good hips, and can cover, he looks like he has good hands and instincts, and he is smart (Stanford).

I mean, he was obviously incredible today.

So not one Miami fan has written that our new star is similar in namesake to one Philip Michael Thomas of Miami Vice fame?

Excellent game by Mr. Thomas though, we should snatch as many PS players from SF and Seattle as possible.

The guy moves like a natural pass defender. It took 3-4 years for Nolan Carroll to turn his excellent speed into production by being able to move and adjust his body at the speed needed to keep up with NFL receivers. Jimmy Wilson still doesn't quite have the ability.

From a physical standpoint, you've gotta like the guy. The secondary position is one where you can't make mental mistakes though, and for a defense that doesn't net a lot of turnover and tends to give up a lot of small completions as opposed to big receptions, you have to worry about losing that advantage. It's probably less lost with him than with Davis and Taylor right now though.

Jamar Taylor is almost assuredly a bust.

Second round pick at a position of need -- and one of the easiest positions to play in the NFL, for rookies -- and he can't see the field.

And when he does sniff the field, he's like a gradeschool boy trying to play college ball.

Nope. Ain't got it. Totally wasted pick.

Dude, this opinion is laughable. The guy has been injured in some way all year. It's not like he has ever been 100% and on the field sucking. His one game was against NO and he got tot cover the best TE in the game. Give him some room man.

Neither Taylor nor Davis have had enough time to develop against NFL caliber talent. You can't judge them based on what they've done this year when neither one has had the actual game time to make some mistakes and learn from them.

This is why you are writing on a fan web site and not an NFL scout.
You have no idea what you are talking about.

He is the Greg Camarillo of the 2013 season.

All I need to see to know what Wilson is about was that wave at the WR on NE last TD. Easily could have made the tackle, instead does an OLE' and lets dude walk in.

that was the most pathetic attempt at a tackle in all my years watching football, just f'in pathetic, no excuse for that bs crap, didnt even try to tackle the receiver, PATHETIC.

I agree. You don't swipe at the football as your opponent is headed toward the end zone. I had to watch the replay, I was like WTF is this guy doing… he had a great angle, all he had to do is put his head down and wrap him up at the hips, and the guy would have been stopped at the 4 or 5 yard line. I have no idea why he did that, it's almost like he wanted him to score.

You're right. He signed a good player from another team's practice squad as a band-aid to cover his own mistakes. IRELAND IS the GREETEST GM EVAR!!!!!!!1!!11!!!!

Ireland is a good gm! And dez bryants mom is a whore! Fact!
