**** Michigan Football ****

Heard Warde Manuel was leader.

In somewhat surprising news, John Baxter leaves for USC. Likely means Chris Partidge becomes ST coach.

Sounds like Michigan guys are saying two silents are in the AAA game. Sounds like Long and Crawford.

Partridge named ST and LB coach. Partridge is a valuable asset recruiting in the NE.

Lotta decommitments but mostly kids that were being pushed out. Don't like that tactic but is what it is. Still expecting big finish to the class (including David Long today hopefully)

So just gonna take a final guess at a final recruiting class, interested to see what everybody else has as there's. Here we go.. probably not gonna be much different than others
1.Brandon Peters (EE)
2.Kareem Walker (EE)
3.Ahmeer Mitchell (EE)
4.Kingston Davis (EE)
5.Sean McKeon (EE)
6.Karlo Kemp (EE)
7.Devin Bush Jr (EE)
8.Ben Bredeson
9.Chris Evans
10.David Long
11.Dylan Crawford
12.Michael Onwenu
13.Ron Johnson
14.Devery Hamilton
15.Brad Hawkins
16.Devin Gil
17.Josh Metellus
18.Dytarious Johnson
Those are the committed kids now I think we keep. So I think we lose Jordan Elliott, Nate Johnson, and Rashad Weaver. Now to finish the class?
1.Rashan Gary
2.Eddie McDoom
3.Lavert Hill
4. Jordan Fuller
5.Chase Allen
6.Michael Drumfour
7.Connor Murphy
8.Khaleke Hudson
9.Donald Stewart
10.Elyse Mbem-Bosse
11.Quinn Nordin
That's 29, I know the number is 30, but not sure who I'd put in. I want to put Boss Togaloa but not sure since dunno if we're getting Asiasi (and I think their a package deal).

Congrats on avoiding the media storm with all of your "decommittments". Petrino offered a grey shirt to a running back from South Carolina last year that had been committed to us for 5 or 6 months who stupidly shut down his recruitment after his verbal. He and his coach roasted the program on social media and the press. We also had to shake loose another lower rated kid around the same time. Petrino and the program proceeded to get **** on by the national media for something most all programs do every year.

It was highly...annoying.

Probably has more to do with the perception of Petrino than anything else. There's been some backlash but SEC schools have all said "meh ".

With Swenson I dunno but Weaver was told months ago he needed to step his game up. Reports are Swenson was asked to camp at Michigan to be evaluated and he said no back in the summer which is when the staff started to sour

According to Michigan Insider Warde Manual selected as new AD

We have been discussing several kids, to include Swenson and Weaver, that were on shaky ground since at least 1 Dec Oman insiders board. If we knew then there is no way these kids didn't know.

Two things are driving the backlash:

1. Michigan fans have always pointed the finger at schools that use questionable tactics and now suddenly find that in order to play with the big boys you recruit with the big boys.

2. I think Harbaugh underestimated the talent he would attract this soon.

I can agree with that because I remember in August people were saying realistically the top notch players wouldn't come until 2017. Hell many felt he'd take lesser players to develop relationships with the coaches for the future. I mean we all knew we had/have a chance with Gary cause of all the Paramus flavor on our team, but who thought we'd have a shot at Bredeson, Walker, Bush Jr, Long, Crawford, ect?

As for the decommits. David Reese knew he was not a take, and if he came in he'd be a FB, Kiante Ennis knew he wasn't a take or at least not on offense like he wanted (and once we fell in love with Kheluke Hudson he lost his safety spot). There's no way Weaver didn't know as there was talk about us not talking to him since November.

Swenson? I know it's been confirmed that he didn't want to camp this summer, but that's it. I think his dad is the one being more negative, but even his coach said they knew that it was a possibility he wasn't a take... speaking of there are some rumors that Brad Hawkins and Ron Johnson were told they could be re-evaluated too (dunno how true that is)

Anyways Hudson and McDoom committed today, Mbem-Bosse and Josh Uche on Sunday. Uche's senior film is awesome (also a former Cane commit), Mbem-Bosse and Uche were made priority commits by Don Brown. Also sounds like Michigan has a very good shot at Devin Asiasi at TE.

And Warde Manuel is a good choice for AD. Did a great job at Buffalo and kept things steady at UConn.

Harbaugh pulled in recruits from 14 different states thus far. Levert Hill is trending back towards Michigan which will make him the only in state signee if he does choose blue. Next year Harbaugh will establish releationships and try and get the in state talent that Dantonio has laid a solid foundation with.

B1G with three teams in the top 7 in recruiting. I don't remember the last time that happened if ever.

Almost forgot. QuinnNordin is trending towards Baxter and USC. Levert Hill is trending back towards Michigan.

Onwenu? Best player in state. You also had a few kids Michigan pulled offers from (Reese and Falcon). But really only guy they went hard after they didn't get was Khalid Kareem

For 2017 Michigan already has number 2 guy in state committed (JaRaymond Hall) and are the favorites for many of the top including Donovan Peoples-Jones (top player in state and one of the best Michigan skills players in awhile), Corey Malone-Hatcher, Josh Ross, Jaylen Kelley-Powell, Ambry Thomas, and Allen Stritzinger. Next year is a much better year in state. Last 2 years were a bit down. Some good players this year, but much deeper next year.

Speaking of, sounds like Brian Cole is done at Michigan. Supposedly broke team rules. Not surprised. Team wasn't as high on him as WR as Hoke was, and he was actually moved to safety. If true

Forgot about Onwenu. Didn't pull Reese's offer. They wouldn't let him EE. Couple tidbits:

Word is Asiasi and Tagaloa are in play. Both telling classmates and teachers they are heading to Michigan. However, Boss' family wants him to stay in state. Asiasi no problem with distance.

Hill cancelled this weekends visit to Clemson to "hang out with my boys" in AA.

Nate Johnson no longer being recruited by ND.

Vicious Vic Viramontes not out of the picture yet.

Donald Stewart trending to Michigan.

Still have 8-9 slots possible after all the shuffling.

Word on Cole is he has some off field issues to clean up but he will be given the opportunity to do so.
