Chris Evans is going to be a star.

17 true freshmen got playing time. Evans obviously the best performance of all of them. Was impressed with Speight bouncing back after the Int. That 3d down strike deep in their end on the next series was huge. No drop off in play if he goes down. O'Korn and Morris both looked good.

It was refreshing to see LB play like that. This defense has potential to be as good as the 97 team.

I would think they will. I like Perry but he doesn't have the talent those 2 do. Not even close.

Amazing that Evans had a lifelong dream of playing for the Buckeyes and Urban only offered him as a DB.

yep I remember when he committed, the one Michigan page I'm apart of basically said "when the OSU offer comes it's over". I know he's one many thought would move to defense though.

Ahmir Mitchell did transfer to Rutgers. Not gonna call him a bad kid, but again need to get your priorities straight. I get that it's college and you are gonna party, but you have to be smarter on how you approach everything (IE don't post all your partying on snapchat and instagram).

Kareem Walker may transfer as well. He likes Michigan but he has some academic issues and Harbaugh wants him to focus on that before he focuses on football.

Another fun story I read from Speight's HS coach. Apparently after the bowl game he went to talk to Harbaugh and Drevno and said he was thinking of leaving (he just assumed he wasn't going to get a chance with O'Korn, Peters, and McCaffrey in the wings and the fact that he didn't really get a chance last year), and the coaches said "Why? You haven't had a chance to compete yet" and once he realized Harbaugh would give him a true chance is all he needed

Wouldnt be surprised if Speight eventually goes the grad transfer route as I think he's just keeping the seat warm for Peters. I thought the little we saw of Morris showed a lot of progress with his accuracy. He'll definitely go the grad transfer route next year and someone will be happy to get him.

Of the 17 freshmen to play, Carl Myers DT was a PWO. Great to see Harbaugh give the kids who work hard an opportunity. Though it was a highly rated class its amazing to see that Harbaugh is able to find kids that aren't necessarily the cream of the crop according to the recruiting sites, who he sees as a fit for what he wants to do and then develop them. One of the traits I have admired about Dantonio.

So I'm in a group with a father of one of Michigan's commits (not hard to figure out who) and he flat out stated had Brady Hoke been head coach his son would have committed to Bama or Notre Dame. Apparently Hoke's staff treated a lot of in state kids poorly on visits

Poorly is a pretty strong word. Perhaps he means they didnt treat them they way Harbaugh does. All I heard about Hoke was how much he was admired and liked by kids and parents and listening to him on Sirius you could tell he was a class act. Maybe your friend and his son had a bad experience. There has been a couple of kids I know of two that felt they a bad experience, one rightfully so, with Harbaugh.

poorly may be strong, but apparently he absolutely treated out of state kids differently and it was absolutely having a negative effect. supposedly Lavert Hill wouldn't be at Michigan either

Couple big plays given up in the run game because containment was lost, but funniest thing is Scott Frost saying after the game that there was no doubt UCF hit harder

Frost is a douche bag. I understand finding positives for your team but not tipping your cap to the opponent is pathetic. He blew off Harbaugh post game handshake as well. He then spent more time blocking Twitter users than breaking down game film on Sunday. No class at all.

Hard to argue against Speights numbers but I really prefer what O'Korn brings to the table.

supposedly the big thing holding O'Korn back is that he's too quick to pull the ball down to run. I do think if Speight keeps this up you could say he has pro potential.

7 TDs and only 1 int. Ruddock didnt have 7 TDs until week 8.

Speight also admitted that he came into Michigan with a big head and didn't listen to the coaches cause he thought he should be starting, but Harbaugh was the wakeup call he needed.
