Ronnie Brown may or may not pan out... but i know he will never be as good as Ricky. So my question... if we have both guys, why would we keep Brown? Ricky is a freak, as we all know... is there a chance we actually trade Brown? It would be quite odd to do that with your first pick, but to me you should keep whoever is the better back.

I highly doubt it. I love ricky but he will retire early. i see him playing 2 more seasons, MAYBE 3.

Little thing called the salary cap. Brown just got around $20 million bonus.

He is staying in Miami for at least 4 years.

Dont expect Ronnie to come right out of the gates and run for 100+ yards. Give him a couple 2 or 3 games. He may suprise you how much better he becomes. He showed a lot more than his stats today.

I think Ricky's stunt last year will tarnish any trade value he has, or will have for years to come. Then again I remember him saying he has two more thousand yard seasons left in him, and that's it.

If he comes back and destroys other teams, who knows? But he's definitely not in your RB-you-can-count-on-year-after-year catagory.

yeah, that would be brilliant. keep the player that has proven he can and will quit at a moments notice and who is 1 failed test away from a year long suspension.

Why would we keep Brown? How about for the piece of mind of knowing your running back will absolutely show up for work tomorrow?

:shakeno:

You've got salary cap constraints and a little thing called the future of your team.

Even if it was financially possible, you don't go out and trade a 1st round pick and keep an old vet that is whacked out in the head and could dissapear again at any moment.

Come on bro, think a little.

How can you say that Ronnie Brown wont be as good as RW after one game? Its just like saying that the Fins will win the Super Bowl after one game. This was RBs first game, and I think he did well for the situation he was in. Maybe he wont rush for 1800+ yards, and thats fine. Im happy with an all-around back that can run, catch, and block, which he demonstrated today.

As far as trading one or the other, Im definately not for it. Im anxious to see Ricky and Ronnie line up behind each other, giving us two good runners and two good receivers out of the backfield. Man, if this line can just give Gus some time...

It would be foolish to trade either. We don't know how long Ricky will be around, plus he's extremely cheap. We're gonna need both RBs this year & in the future to be successful.

Keep both players. Ricky comes cheap and is extremely talented. The combo of Brown and Williams with Linehan as Offenensive Coordinator should be potent.

i really hope we can keep ricky. i think with him and brown , we would have a really good backfield.

I think an announcer during the game said Ricky had 40 yards during his first game. I think Ricky looks much better than Ronnie now, but I agree with the others, lets give him some time to get adjusted....

BUT I KNOW YOU SAW CADDY RUN FOR 150!!! HAHA, that gets you wondering a little, but we'll be alright.

I know that, but did you know that before his big TD run, he had 23 carries for 64 yards.

Read my SIG, BROWN is the future of this franchise. And i agree with the poster above who said that Ricky will only play for 2 maybe 3 seasons TOPS.
