Mike and Mike

They like to talk about how it was bad for Miami with the tony sparano jim harbaugh fiasco what about the jets they were going to let cromartie go to try to sign Namdi but they lost out on him and had to deal with Cromartie why was it alright for that to go by but not the Dolphins situation.

You went looking for a new coach while your current coach was still under contract. Cromartie was an unrestricted free agent, free to sign with any team he wanted while the Jets were pursuing Asomugha.

Jets regressed this offseason. Pats got better. Fins got better. Buffalo got better.

last year we were 7-9 with horrible o line play. no playmaker at rb and a horrible offensive coordinator. This assesment is a joke.

To be fair this year your OL is a work in progress, you have a playmaker at RB but you don't have a consistent RB and your OC is not exactly a wizard. This isn't a 3-4 win team BUT it's also not a 10 win team either unless your OL plays great and henne finally gets it.

Hpw exactly did we regress and how did NE get better? So when NE signs old players it's a good move buit if we do it's bad? We had a great offseason and on paper we are better than a year ago.

You guys have many more questions than we do.

Your receivers are a guy who's been laying in jail all day with 3 hots and a cot, an AARP member, and a drunkard. Your QB is erratic. Your QB had FIFTEEN dropped interceptions last year, lightning doesn't strike twice. And lastly, you've got an even bigger target on your backs from more popping off. Trust me, you're not better than you are a year ago.

Didn't lightning already strike twice since made back to back title games? We have some age questions in our WR corps but talent wise we have by far the best trio in the division- hopefully they play up to that talent.

Trust me we are better and the biggest reason we are is b/c Sanchez has another year of experience. Expect to see more of postseason sanchez than the up and down reg season version and that instantly makes us significantly better.

But I thought w/ Hard Knocks and rex talking we had the target last year? I love the excuses.

The Jets got worse in a variety of ways. They replaced a dynamic pass catcher/ deep threat in Edwards with a guy in Plaxico that could be good again but he's 34 and 2 years removed from the NFL. Personally, I doubt he stays healthy.
They replace Brad Smith/ Cotch with Derrick Mason so they lose a good return man and now they (again) have to rely on a very old receiver to stay healthy all year. Mason is clearly on the decline and I really don't know how much he has left.
Outside of that, LT is a year older, the o-line has (almost) as many questions as the Fin's does, and they def. didn't get better on defense.
Meanwhile, the Pats got better in a few ways. They had a VERY young D last year that is only getting better w/ guys like McCourty, Chung and Mayo, and Haynesworth is obviously an elite penetrator when he's motivated. Ochocinco is older but he's 32 not 34 or 37 (like plax nd Mason) he's still a great route runner with great hands, nd he joins a cast of offensive weapons across the board that Brady is just going to shred the league with.
Pats got better, jets got worse.
As for the Fins, Bush gives them a much needed dimension of speed, and Henne/ Marshall should be better but the o line still has holes and who knows how good or bad Thomas will be. The D should be about the same as last yr, hopefully better with Burnett nd emerging Reshad Jones.
So, IMO the Pats got better, jets got worse, Fins got slightly better.

These Mike and Mike threads are so contradictory. Fans on this board clearly listen to/watch them, because they can't stop talking about what they said and what their opinions are. However, no one here seems to understand how the show actually works.

Mike and Mike is a national sports show. They talk about what's big in national sports. Today's segment was part of the two-a-days special they do every year, which covers EVERY SINGLE TEAM. To think that Mike and Mike are obsessed with the Dolphins and that they single them out is one of the most asinine things I've ever heard.

Perfect storm. You act like no one else got better. And talk about bias. 3rd year for Sanchez and he'll get better, but it's impossible for the Phins to do the same. Not saying it WILL happen but to throw this much bias out is disturbing. You belong on Mike & Mike, hope your name is Mike.

Too bad Greeny and Golic don't set the odds in Vegas (Vegas has our over/under at 7.5 wins), I'd take the o/u of 4 all day long. Win-win situation. Beat 4 and win $$, lose and get Luck in the draft.

Fact is though, our D will keep us close in every game this year. Whether we win or lose will come down to those 3-4 plays per game that can go either way. If the ball bounces our way and we get the calls, we will finish over .500.

As much as I want to see us win, I agree with some of the other posters though, I'd rather finish 3-13 and get a shot at Luck than 7-9 or 9-7 and stay mired in mediocrity.....

At the very least, if we are only winning 3-4 games this year, let those wins be against the Jets and Pats :)

So 6 isn't the worst then?

I think we're a 6-10 team on paper, if sparano loses the locker room, which he may have already, we're down to 4-12. Throw in a catastrophic injury or 2 and we're in the race for Luck.

Tony Sparano has lost the locker room? Really? Some of you people talk out of your ***. How would somebody from Moncton, NB know whats going on out here in Miami anyways

Edwards is a good WR, I wouldn't call him dynamic and Burress before he shot himself was significantly better than Braylon. I don't expect Burress '07 or '08 but I expect him to give us close to what Braylon gave us.

Brad Smith was non existant in our passing game as a WR, he was a wildcat threat and return man. The WC lost effectiveness anyway and we have had success returning kicks no matter who we put back there w/ Mike Wesythoff(not to mention the new rules).

Don't forget we get Holmes for 16 games and in year 2 w/ Sanchez and don't forget Sanchez is going into year 3.
Cotch is a loss long term b/c he was still undre 30 but mason is damn good and short term he'll give us everything Cotch gave us and more.

LT is a backup.

Our D is clearly better w/ Cro in year 2, revis for a full training camp and full year, pace healthy, leonhard healthy, the 2 young guys on the DL, getting Ropati back. Our D will be much better than a year ago.

IF Haynesworth actually tries NE got better but he's tried for 1-2 years of his career.

Ocho is 33 and hasn't been very good the last few years. mason has had 2 1,000 yd seasons the last 3 years which is one more than Ocho who has been a #1 WR.

Bush gives Miami a much needed playmaker on O BUT he's not an every down back. He's never been able to do it.

Miami is better IF the OL is solid, IF Henne plays more like '09 than '10 and IF the running game is consistent. Those are big IFs, we don't have any big if's.

mark got much better in year 2, henne in his 2nd year starting took a big step back. Mark is much more of a sure thing especialyl when you factor in his quality play in January.

The jets don't have many question marks and neither does NE, these are 2 consistent, winning teams. We know barring disastrous injuries these teams will be among the AFC elite. Miami has to prove it by taking that next step to becoming a playoff contender.

I do not listen to these fools. I have listened to their show in the past(like 5 years ago) but I have learned that they are a waste of time. All I go on now about them is what people here post. I see almost every week a thread about them bashing the Dolphins, so yes to me it appears like a "National" show that is ran by a Jets fan spends a lot of time on the Dolphins.

I live in NY surrounded by Jets fans. There is no arguing with them. According to them, the Jets are the best team in football and have been for the last 3 years. They are undoubtedly going to win the superbowl this year. Sanchez will be a top 5 QB. Blah blah blah blah. They haven't won anything in years. We at least won the division in 08. True, they made it to the AFC title game, but they did not make the Superbowl. In other words, they haven't won anything in a looong time.

This year there is no way we are a 3-4 win team. Like someone said earlier, our D alone is good for a few wins. We also have Bush, Marshall, Bess, the best LT in the game in Long, and a better line than last season. How could two guys (Mike and Mike)who have a radio show be that ignorant in their predictions. You know what, good, let people think we suck. Then we can be underestimated and come out and win 10-11 games and make the playoffs.
