Mike Mayock: Dolphins have nothing but backup QB's

He was annointed starter and had a few offseasons. Had a season much like last year when qb got injured,
Was starter next season had concussion game one then played next week got pulled sat for a month then played horrible and lost starting job.
Maybe he improved though
That's awful.

I agree. If we draft Tanney, we'll have the new trifecta of backups.

Has anybody seen Matt Moore with a full Offseason to prepare to? No, so Mayock, just like your Jawalrus evaluation, you might be wrong this time...get Moore some weapons and a better system, and lets sit back and discuss...

Right now we're just substantially subtracting.

Had one season where he was annointed starter. Personally, we're tired of hearing about it.

Obviously our Front Office knows this. They tried going for manning but we didn't have the money. We tried going for Flynn but we would of had to pay to much for a guy that's not proven. Obviously luck and RG3 are not our picks. We were playing it safe but it was smart too so we didn't over pay Flynn. Tannehill is our next option but imo he is not a top ten talent. I'm not mad at the front office at all. Just imagine if we got Flynn and he sucked. That would be a huge set back. There best bet is too draft other needs through this deep draft and next year trade up for a franchise QB. Build through the draft!

but 13 years? Come on Dolphins step the F up!!

Thats what happens when you act like qb is just another position. This regime thinks lt is the most important position on field and some people on board somehow agree lol

I can't believe you guys are listening to Mayock; instead of the all the homers around here who are never wrong. They told us last year we had a good team and were headed to the playoffs...oh forgot...we started 0-7. But they still know this team better...we have alot of talent! Who you going to trust...them or Mayock? After all...Ireland and Co. is smarter than 98% of the people on here!

Yay! Blame the fans for our problems...whatever helps you sleep at night, right?

Mayock is absolutely right, and just stating the obvious. Every football fan in the world knows that already (not that anyone pays attention to the dolphins anyway, except to laugh at them)

Watch Garrard ends up with a huge year or something. Truth be told, they are backups, but Mike Mayock has been all over the place in his assessments this year. One of his worst efforts in his career for this upcoming draft.

Putting some more of Mike Mayock's opinions and prognostications in perspective for starters:

Sanchez: would have a higher "floor" than Stafford or Freeman. Would take Sanchez as a top 10 QB in the draft over the other 2.

Cam Newton: has all the physical tools but his "gut" told him Cam didn't "have the heart" to be a great NFL player and would probably be more content being a middle of the pack multi-millionaire

Troy Smith: would probably go in the 3rd round but within 2-3 years, his athleticism, smarts and toughness will give him an opportunity to start in the league

Gabbert: Only sure top 10 pick, and a "franchise quarterback."

So consider the source :idk:

Mike Mayock: Jake Long is not a left tackle

Sanchez must really really suck then cus matt moore showed him the door with the longest drive in history. as said before, just wait for a full offseason with a real coach.

Mayock's argument could also be applied to the Seahawks (with Flynn), KC Chiefs, Arizona Cardinals, NY Jets, Buffalo Bills, Cleveland Browns, J-ville Jaguars, San Fran 49'ers.
He states the obvious. Elite starters don't grow on trees

Yes, in Carolina. He was horrible.

He is right. But Chris Chandler, Steve DeBerg, Jeff hostetler, Jay Shroeder, Jim Plunkett, Kurt warner, Stan Humpheries, Tony Romo, and Brad Johnson all had success after being backups. So why not Moore?
