Mike Munchak fired because he refused to make staff changes

I honestly could live with philbin and Ireland for one more year but I draw the line at Sherman...you can't justify bringing him back at all.

Problem is, it appears more and more that Phailbin and Sherman are connected at the hip.

if Sherman really was joes friend he would resign

Munchak was asked to fire half the staff which is why the issue went down. I know there were issues with the offensive staff, but on twitter it says that he wanted to promote Greg Williams to DC and the owners weren't having that

In a way, I'm glad Joe Philbin is standing up for Mike Sherman. It's not Mike's fault he has an OL that can't block anybody and running backs who straight up blow.

Actually, I think Sherman is part of the problem there. His starting running back who "straight up blows" average 4 ypc despite never getting the ball at anything resembling a normal rate and being asked to run the ball out of formations that are difficult to run out of more often than not, and neither Sherman nor Philbin made any changes to the line that was historically bad until their hand was forced. Plus he hasn't taught his QB anything in three years about eluding the pass rush, which is as big of a problem as the line itself.

Sherman needs to go…fire Joe if you have to because it isn't working. No QB sneaks. 4-5 WR sets on 3&2. HB Draw on 2nd down after a sack on 1st. HAS TO. NEEDS TO. SHOULD BE……GONE!!!!

Still miffed we haven't heard Turner's name more. Makes me think that the FO knows that the problems go much deeper than just a position coach.

...Or so I hope.

Just to play Devil's advocate: can we prove that Sherman's son-in-law is a crappy QB coach? Most around the league believe Tannehill improved. It's probably just coincidence of being in year 2, but Taylor could put Tanny's stats on his resume.

You can say Tannehill can't throw deep, and I could point to a couple throws where RT got out of the pocket and made incredible plays, like the 4th & 10 vs Baltimore. If Gibson just keeps running instead of falling down for no reason at all then Dolphins win and we're still in the playoffs.

Absolutely. It is insane that the owner would try to micromanage the assistant coaches of the coach he hired and thinks is the right man for the job.

I'm hopeful that what really happened this week is that when Ross got there, Joe presented 'his case' for why the coaching staff was dealt a bad hand by the GM. I really do. Because if Ross finally understands that the GM must get axed, that's one huge step in the right direction.

I disagree. More often than not the relationship between HC and Coordinators is based on 'friendship'. Nepotism has no place in any work environment. Most evaluations from HC to Coordinators are flawed and driven by "you are my buddy" rather than for the good of the team.

In order to keep his job, Philbin should be told that Sherman, Taylor (QB coach), and Turner must go, period. Its that simple. And he should feel damn lucky that he is even given this opportunity. Unfortunately, Ross doesn't have the balls to do this. Man I miss Joe Robbie.

No one knows if anyone's been told anything.

If philben thinks that Sherman has done a good job and is neccesary for development of tannyhill, then philben is not the coach for me. It is pretty obvious that tannyhill was not ready to play the last 2 games and they let him sit there and get killed. If he loves Sherman so much, they should both go....

As it relates to turner: our RBs coach is worse, when it comes to blocking assignments and technique. Face it; our backs blocked like ****.
Turner got good efforts out of Brenner and Nate Garner. Ireland just buried him in crap. However, if Turner was a critical voice in our drafting and FA acquisition of O-line 'talent', then he should get fired too.
Jon Martin was the weakest, physically O-lineman at the combine, and this Dallas Thomas guy is very weak too. How hard is it to just avoid physically weak players in a position where physical strength is, uh, kinda important?
It's such a sick joke how inept Ireland is. Seriously, WTF does he measure talent with? Weak offensive linemen, DEs with bad shoulders, LBs who flat-out can NOT tackle and have terrible instincts and technique.
Man!

Ugh!!!

the chiefs have scored more points in the game's first 15:21 than the dolphins did in their last 27 possessions.

That 4th and inches Indy just converted is exactly why we need a new O coordinator. Sherman wouldn't have called that play if God himself told him to
