Mike Wallace: Big plays are coming

Here's the problem with Ryan and Mike...they are both talking and neither is actually working.

Deep down they both seem to believe the problem is with the other. So they're saying the right things, but what each is actually saying is, "When HE gets around to working on it, it will be fine." The dynamic sort of reminds me of Marshall/Henne. A lot of vague and below-surface dissatisfaction with the "other guy" but no real efforts to improve things.

What they have to realize is they are a tandem, and even if the problem is with the other guy, they BOTH need to put the time in to help the other. At this point, especially given how much everyone is on their arse about this, I don't think they'll ever really put the work in to get on the same page (with respect to deep balls), and continue to think it will fix itself.

Tannehill was working with receivers in the off-season, wallace felt he didn't need to work on it that bad I guess. Rishard Matthews found the time to go workout and you can see clearly there better chemistry between Tannehill and our 5th receiver

Thing is, the average comp% for those type of throws is what? I`d bet its under 30%. And we try those once a game most of the times, sometimes going for it 2-3 times... So at the strict minimum, your going to attempt those 17 and 34 in a season more or less... With those odds you should get between 5-10 completions a season... Its easy to get all worked up on the hightlights he got in pitts and then make all kinds of expectations based on that, but reality is that its still one of the toughest throw to make out there no matter how fast you are...

exactly, and that's probably what tannehill thinks about the situation - i was putting the work in, where was mike?

That's what I'm saying...it's a low percentage pass and people on this site act like other abs are hitting it 80% of the time. I really don't know what some people think. Yea I'd love to see them connect deep, yea we left points on the field but if you actually watch full games of other teams instead of espn highlights you will see qbs miss deep quite a bit.

what exactly is he saying that's got your panties in a wad? He's being ****ing interviewed. Is he not allowed to answer Qs regarding the deep ball until it's corrected? You guys are acting like he's setting up personal press conferences or some stupid ****. He's going to be asked these questions. Why you guys flip out over it is beyond weird.
Suuuuure.
Have you not been hearing him going around complaining about the refs?? He is talking and talking and it seems that he is the only one talking much at all. Is he our spokesman now?

Stop ****ing talking about it and just ****ing do it already. The fact that Tannehill and Wallace didn't even get together even once in the offseason to work on the deep ball pisses me off. Then I have to be impressed that they stayed a whole 5 minutes after practice yesterday working on routes and ****? **** that. Hit the deep ball and shut the **** up until you do.

Dude, he was just answering a reporter's question. Chill out...

The obsession over the deep ball is so ridiculous. Yes…they both need to get better. But people around here act like they are going to hit on 90% of these. We are talking about hitting a handful more of these in a season as a drastic upgrade.

So instead of focusing on the go-route…how about we obsess about getting chunk plays in general. I want to see Wallace take a slant to the house…or a WR screen…or whatever. We need big plays…and the go-route is just one.

True. It was at least promising that Wallace didn't drop any against Dallas. They were 7/8, with the only incompletion being the deep ball. That's at least good efficiency.

Good guesses. 29.8% was the average completion and Tannehill was 7 of 31 for passes traveling 30+ yards. Tannehill's accuracy percentage of 29% isn't far off the average of 34.6%.

Omg ONE whole week out of the entire offseason. Stfu he should be there until they get it right. Guy is the biggest underachiever in the league right now.

You're confused sir. He only MISSED one week in the offseason. You guys took an early report that mentioned Wallace wasnt there and ran with it as if he didnt work out with them at all. Wallace later clarified that he was on vaca when they started working and ONLY MISSED THE FIRST WEEK!

So you STFU and get your **** straight!

Ok, true that.

The problem here is partly because there are so many fans that let the local media shape their opinions.

Wallace had career numbers in passes and yardage didn't he?

He has played well and been productive, he can be MORE productive but so can most players.

He may ultimately be a better intermediate route WR than deep WR.

Unless he gets gaudy stats this year he will be in another uniform probably next year anyway

Im confused am I reading this right. Are u being sarcastic. You said he had career numbers in receptions and yardage or are you talking about his average. Not bad numbers if you want to be like the 25 th best number one receiver in the league
