I got sucked in to the nonsense myself.....but this whole thread is just stupid. We are arguing (and some using it to condemn) over an aspect of his game that is the absolute LEAST attempted throw in the game. Yeah it needs to improve but it's absurd to use something so ultimately irrelevant to try to show him to be inadequate at his position.

I have not seen anyone on this site say his throws a good deep ball.. Your beating a dead horse.. Some people believe he does other things well enough and can improve in this area.. I personally believe he is still learning a lot as a qb and has only been around the same coaches its time to read a different book for Ryan

Don't you know it's considered clever to compare a 10 vet with a 2nd year player.

Every forum needs a :napoleon:making a stats / poll every other day.

I have no interest in trying to sway a persons mind on their feelings about our current starting QB. If they think he is above average, below average, or in the middle, I don't feel the need to bombard them with data to show what he truly is. That's just my feeling on the matter. I'm sure a lot of time is spent on compiling the numbers, so it is not my intention to insult. People in general are very stubborn. Especially when it comes to favorite sports teams

I'd encourage you start a poll and ask the members of the forum whether they believe Tannehill has been average, below average, or above average during that period.

Or a poll whether one can create more than one poll a month.

I have to totally disagree with you on this one. The importance of hitting those long passes was highlighted in the New England - Denver game this past weekend. Brady missed the open long plays while Manning completed his. Brady was 2 for 6 for 47 yards while Manning went 5 for 7 for 133 yards on long passes. That is pretty much the difference of their stat lines and the difference in the score. Completing the long pass is hardly irrelevant. Baltimore used it to win the Championship last year. You have to be able to complete it consistently to compete with the big boys.

YPA is strongly associated with winning. YPA is strongly associated with air YPA. And air YPA is strongly associated with downfield accuracy.
