Mondays game very important...do you agree?

There are a couple things that I am interested in seeing the preseason game. I could care less if we win or lose. I just want to see how the rookies play, I want to see the O-Line play together, and I want to see the freaking QB's and see who I think is better.

Just my opinion, but I don't think this game carries any importance whatsoever. Saban isn't going to use this game to guage talent as much as he will guage how everyone is picking up the new schemes. There will be very little playing time for the vets and we'll see alot of the rookies and younger guys. Remember, we have 5 pre season games this year. The next preseason game will began to guage the more important stuff.

technically its not but itactually is because it will help saban decide his starting QB

Hey guys...wanted your thoughts on this. I think Monday's preseason game is very important to us. One..I think its important for us to put last season behind us. A game filled with mistakes..and turnovers...might prolong last seasons hangover.

Do you think Saban wants to make a statement? Will we see a much different D? Will we see the blitz package unleashed?

Im looking for a very...organized...careful game plan. I think Saban will look to work on technique. And if their are alot of mistakes....you could see alot more than one guy crying. Id be afraid to ask Saban questions after the game if I were a reporter.

I don't think you can read too much into the game, whether we blow out the Bears or lose in a shutout...With the first 2 preseason games, you look at getting your schemes down, getting your players on the same page. You may look at your specific weak or battleground areas (QB, LT, RG, C, safety, LCB, 3rd WR spot) but not too hard...You will also have to look at how assignments go...if the OL is on the same page and who is not, the LB group, etc...there won't be much in the way of blitzing and changeups I would imagine.

I just don't think that Saban will be too disillusioned if we tank it or too high if we set things afire...

If we are successful, it will build players and fans confidence. However, I expect the game to be somewhat vanilla and not too much vertical offense. It's important not to get down on Linehan and the O if we are not aggressive. Baby steps......

yes i think that mondays game is very important to make a statment i also think that it is important to get ronnie brown signed so he can get sum extra playing time

I predict if you guys have a good game there will be 100 superbowl here we come threads followed by 100 sig changes to whoever had a big play in that game.

I predict if you guys lose there will be 100 the sky is falling threads.

that is actually something I agree with

I personally CANNOT wait to watch it, I as most of you, dont really care if they win or loose, but I want to see what our Rookies have in them, I cant wait to evaluate all of the young players looking for a spot.

I'm not so sure Ronnie Brown will even see the field at this point. We are 5 days away from the game and Brown has yet to practice. I If he plays, he will maybe touch the ball once or twice. I can't see Saban letting him get in there much with such little preparation.

No I do not think any preseason game is important. By definition they are not important. I hope we cut down on mistakes but frankly I am not worried one iota about that. My only worry is injuries. That is what I hate about preseason - injuries

Much as I predict that we will see very Bills fan come on and tell us we suck...if we are bad...and if we look really good...they will say..its only preseason.

The league most likely chose the Phins to play this game because Marino being inducted, so some good play and a W would be a good tribute to The Man.

All games are important in a sense. I mean theres always rebuilding and tearing down dynasties and **** teams. New coaches, different philosophies, ways of training changes in roster and maturity throughout a season. This is no different but as far as important its def good to see us out there with Saban and our Miami Dolphins but it will only let us know where we are as of this point. The key is progress like Disney Worlds Carrousel of Progress. In conclusion Crowder, Roth, Vickerson, Wright, Daniels, Alabi, Brown whenever he reports, and Boston getting healthier although i dont have a good filling about him well his health anyways and Traylor getting in shape as well as Chester. Plus Middleton and Ephraim have to adjust and we will just keep learning the system. If we compete in the first quarter thats what really matters. I want to just see no injuries good line protection and the ball spread around. Maybe some clearity with the backs as well. I would like to see some flashes of hope in the younger players as well.

Importance Level: 5 of 10

The first preseason game isn't very important. The first unit usually plays a few possessions and that's it. It is more there to evaluate players on the "bubble." The games are about as important as scrimmages. Let's keep everyone healthy, that's what I care about.
