Monroe unlikely to return to Ravens

Is Donald Penn getting the ax in Tampa?

What are the Raiders thinking? They must be looking at a LT in Round One.

Penn sounded pissed when was Davin Joseph released.

I doubt we ever had a shot at him anyways.

Should get done today before 4 RT @AKinkhabwala: Buzz from inside Ravens HQ: team and LT Eugene Monroe are very close on a new deal.

Sources predicting Eugene Monroe, Ravens will hammer out new contract today, barring any unforeseen snags, according to sources

What are the odds that we pay albert more?

All this sounds like a simple case of Monroe just didn't want to be on the Dolphins.

I hope it's not that the Dolphins were fixated on the "big name", PR "splash hire" to try to improve their public image.

Maybe albert is a really high-character guy who Philbin wanted in the locker room to counteract all the foolishness.

I think Joe wanted Albert because Albert is better than Monroe.

You would be wrong. Reports were the Dolphins showed little interest in Monroe. The primary target was Albert all along and the Dolphins got their #1 guy. Monroe's agent is probably not happy because he has no leverage any more. No one outside of the Ravens are showing interest in Monroe any more. Cardinals are focusing on Veldheer, Dolphins have Albert, Oakland seems poised to draft a LT and no one is talking to Monroe but the Ravens.

If I'm the Ravens I tell Monroe you sign for $8 mil a year or the price tag goes down to $7.5 after free agency opens. I'd be playing hard ball with his agent cause he's out of options.
