Montana quote about Marino

Marino was one in a million...but was not the best QB. No Championships prohibit that title. But I'll take Marino over them all.

I deal in reality, I have done nothing but praise marino over an dover and over again including here but in my opinion Montana is slightly ahead of him. is that bashing? It wasn't even about marino, it was about a stupid quote from Walsh.

My concern has nothing to do with your opinion of montana vs. marino, but with your constant need to correct fans of your team's rivals. I often find myself agreeing with your thoughts, but wonder what drives you to be here other than putting dolphin fans 'in there place'.

My goal is not to "put fans in their place", whether here or at my jets site I post my opinions. people are free to disagree with me but I hope they are ready to debate which is what I consider fun about these boards.

I think Marino is the best pure passer I have ever seen, but making Marino the system is why he never won a Super Bowl.

Even in this pass happy league, you cannot win a SB with an elite QB alone. You need a running game and a good defense. See Seattle v. Manning.

I think this is it.

That team, fans and publicity was all about Dan, and at the end it didn't work, but at leas we were SB contenders every Year.

I remember not even worry about making the playoff, but to predict how long we could still undefeated (don't get me wrong, we did missed some playoff, but that was the feeling)

fair enough.

Chill guys...Listen..take away the fact NYJUNC is a Jet fan and you have to admitt he makes some good points.
Just remove the green cloud.

But if Dan had Jerry Rice to throw to....My God,..5000 yd averages a year!

Even if I don't agree with everything...a smart peaceful debate with someone with a outside view is welcomed.

what people forget is that Montana won 2 SBs without Jerry Rice.

True...but people forget about the rule change that made way for the big recievers, like Rice,(they could fight their way off the line)
and doomed the smaller quick recievers like Duper and Clayton.

those guys had good careers- thanks to Dan.

Clayton was a warrior...Duper,after Kenny Easliy (saftey for the Seahawks) almost killed him coming across the middle, was never really
the same (plus that little coke thing)...fly patterns were his bread and butter from then on out.
