Anyone know if Moore has ever worked in the west coast offense? Who knows, he might jell in this type of system. Philbin did wonders with a 7th round draft named Flynn. Maybe he can do the same for Moore.

Philbin had 4 years to work wonders with a 7th round pick.

Moore has never worked in the WCO and I'm not sure how good he'll be. He's not the most accurate passer, his ball placement isn't all that great, especially on the crossing routes.

Since Marshall does not run the best routes or have great hands, then it should be perfect.....lol

Both of which are essential

Please stop the nonsense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG, I think people are just talking to talk now. He is not that accurate, really???? May the lord have mercy on your soul. Moore has honestly been the best quarterback we have seen around here in a few yearsand all people do is complain. I understand wanting a franchise QB, but did he not play damn well last year? Was anybody watching the same games that I was?

This whole WCO mindset has a lot of people worried.

Philbin will fit the scheme best suitor for his players.

If you think about it, almost all offenses nowadays have a little bit of every type of scheme in them.

Moore will be fine. His accuracy wasn't half bad last year, if the receivers would've just held on to the damn ball, then we wouldn't be having this convo. Anyway, with that said I still believe that we need some legit competition for Moore. I'm lookin at you Mr. Flynn

Great players can find ways to succeed in any system.

Matt Moore is not a great player. He is a backup who can come off the bench to complete a season when you are already out of the mix. Carolina and then Miami.... nearly identical situations.
You want to have Moore here to compete.. thats fine, thinking about him getting you anywhere worth a damn..... and you're wasting your time.

I think Matt Moore would look great in a West Coast Offense, say Seattle or Oakland!

Moore came from a NFL offense that was employed by Riley and OSU. I do not think he has ever been in a WCO. His accuracy was not that bad this year and he finished the year with an 87.1 passer rating. That is better or as good as most of the QBs in league. I think he should, at the least, be given a shot at it before anyone complete dismisses him. Flynn, if we bring him in, is going to have the advantage since he has been playing in that system for the last 5yrs. It sets up a great oppurtunity for a QB battle in TC. I just don't want what happens in so may cases in this league, the coach goes with a player because he is more familiar with him. For example, I knew a guy that got drafted by KC and was subsequently traded to the Seahawks. He was a 7th rd pick out of Praire View. He said he went to training camp and did not matter what he did in practice, there was no way he was getting on the field as long as Van McElroy was playing for Tom Flores. He never got the oppurtunity to prove himself in game action and, being a 7th rd pick, was out of the league in 3yrs. I just want a fair competition. I hope we get one.

Since some of you are having a hard time distinguishing Moores ability except to rely on a number, listen to what Ross and Ireland have been saying about the QB spot. They are upgrading and my money is on Flynn.

If they sign Flynn its not to compete with Moore but be the starter. Moore will go back to the bench.

DJ, Flynn came into the league in 2008. He's only had 3 years, and I doubt he was taking the majority of snaps. He obviously has the system already in his blood, but our entire corp is much much different than what he had in Green Bay. Philbin will tailor the system to match the players he has been dealt....if he's as good as I honestly believe he is anyways.

I really don't think we will be seeing a true WCO, but more of a new Miami Dolphins Offense. As somebody mentioned, the true Bill Walsh WCO doesn't even exist in the league anymore. Coaches use components of everything available to them, the GBP, just happen to have lots of receivers that run tight routes and so it mimicks closely what the WCO was born into.

For the record, I think Matt Moore would absolutely flourish in a WCO type. His accuracy is just fine, its his arm strength if anything that has me worried. Timing would be critical, and that is as much on the receivers as it is Moore. Bess could really become the next Wes Wanker in this scheme IMHO.

Matt Moore. The new punching bag. Starting with B Marshall who catches balls in the lame touch football pro bowl but cant catch one right in his mits in the end zone.

Do you make up your facts as you go along? Must be! MOORE's very accurate on crossing patterns. Get a hold of the last couple of games, and especially against the JETS, watch how many times he hit BESS in stride across the middle. Your post is absurd.
