Moore may be closer to starting than you think

Everyone keeps saying we need to start Moore but no one has been able to explain what the end game is.

We answered the most important question, which was is Tannehill it? We know he's not, so please explain to me what good putting someone else who isn't the answer in to drop our draft spot. We did this with luck. Rah rah we won 7 games or whatever it was. Would anyone on this board not go back and trade those meaningless wins for Andrew luck?

The thing is there were reports this past offseason that Tannehill would be on a shorter leash this year and finheaven didn't believe it. Then there was another report after the preseason that the Dolphins coaching staff and FO were concerned about Tannehill and again finheaven disputed it. So now the the had sucked through. 3 games maybe there was some truth to those reports? A wise man once said there's some truth to every rumor.

That was a JLC report so…..

I find it funny that so many people think Moore is the answer

Could Moore be worse??? No
Do I want to continue to suck?? I don't in open to. Any change

Only reason Tannyhill continues to start is b/c we wasted an #8 pick on him.

Thanks for clearing that up...for the life of me I could not see why a change was not made today even if for only 1 series to let RT see the field from a different perspective. Honestly the Guy is about a season from being out of the league.

1. It's less obvious to me than Moore isn't the answer than that Tannehill isn't the answer.
2. The end game is to have a football team more capable of winning games, which is the goal of football teams. There is nothing in stats, career record, or even the way the two have looked as Dolphins QB to suggest that Moore doesn't have a very good chance of being better than Tannehill. At this point, Tannehill has nothing going in his favor, and I honestly doubt very much that the members of the offense who have seen the passes Moore can throw as opposed to Tannehill seriously believe that Moore can't do better at this point.

If we lose to the Raiders and Tannehill has another bad game, the Moore talk will be real

Philbin is coaching for his job, he will put in the best guy to give us a chance of winning. And who knows, a benching could lite a fire under Tannehill who was handed this franchise on a platter.

Are you keeping that sig ?

We have a running game that's improved greatly so far and a defense that has kept the team in games thru 8 of the 12 quarters. What's missing is the passing game and someone to actually lead and keep them from getting gassed. Tannehill looks fish out of water so far, which was a distinct possibility without the TAMU offense training wheels.

Still nor answering the question.

If Moore is not the answer, and winning meaningless games hurts your ability to get better for the long term, then why field the better player?

Because sometimes the backup QB - like Tom Brady, Kurt Warner, Earl Morrall - can take you to the Super Bowl.

If a team is 1-12, I understand the "meaningless games" argument.

But when a team is 1-2, there are no "meaningless games".

The mentality of "giving up" after a 1-2 start hurts a team far more in the long term.

no one said he is the answer, but he is the best we have on our current roster.

we cant draft a qb now, there r no good qbs available via trade, so u gotta use the best u have, and right now, tannehill is not the best option at qb.

its the same crap over and over again. no pocket awareness, takes bad sacks, and he is very limited as to where he can go on the field. he cant stretch the field, and that is a big problem

Yes. You are right. Put in the known career backup and save Philbin's job and get a lower draft pick, right? Since everyone who has been clamoring for Moore is backing off on the "he can win" nonsense they have been spewing since preseason, suddenly the reason to put him in is because he is more fun to watch? That's stupid. Winning is fun to watch, losing always sucks. Does it matter if you lost throwing a couple of deep balls?

Why not come clean? You want Moore in because you think he can turn the season around and magically take us to the playoffs. If not, you are actually saying you are willing to hurt the team next year for 1 or 2 meaningless wins this season.

The sensible thing to do is to keep Tannehill in and either he improves, or the whole team gets re-evaluated and some meaningful changes get made.

Yes get a high draft pick and save the franchise by getting the likes of Jake Long or Dion Jordan with a top 5 pick. That's a good strategy.

I think we'll score more with Moore, can't see how that is far fetched. Not sure how many more wins that would lead to.

Straight up naive. The Dolphins have far more going wrong than just the QB's. The defense reportedly hates the DC, the receiving corps still can't catch, the OL is suspect, the D can't tackle, etc. Mat Moore might give you hope, but this team is far away from competing on a real level.

We have a new GM now. You can't attribute the Ireland moves to Hickey.
