More Dum@@ses At ESPN!

ESPN has never gaven the Dolphins any credit, no matter how many accomplishement we have made. Thats why I hate ESPN. They are Dolphin haters.

Turning off ESPN now, on Rome is Burning they asked the question now: Who would you rather have on your team Marino or Young? One guy answers Young. And this expert says young and heres his reason, Young did more with the receivers he had. To me that means he had crappier WR but still managed great numbers. Yea ok buddy, Jerry Rice is pretty average and Terrell Owens is as good as Freddie Mitchell. Oh but the funnies thing he said was Young because he was a backup and still acheived greatness, which is a legitamate point, but then finished it off by saying Marino was always a star from the beginning, even at West Virginia!! Haha, what an expert. Marino played college at Pitt, duma$$ I can only give credit to the other 2 guys on the show, one who picked Marino and the other picked Young because he was more versatile, he could run and pass. Only legitamate point in over an hour of watching ESPN

i think he would have won 5 super bowls, if he was with the 49ers.......umm lets see, Steve Young, sucked a$s with the buccaneers, then you throw him on the great 49ers, and hes unstoppable.....its hard telling how good marino would have been for them

I think that is a good number because that is the combined number of titles that Montana and Young won, and Marino was active and productive throughout that whole time period. So I think that is a valid point.

gracias.

The sensitivity level of most Dolfans is crazy. Get over it, it's someone's opinion. I look at it this way, if he had a ring, he wouldn't have the numbers, because he would not of thrown the ball as much. Would Marino of won a SB if he was a 49er? Yes, IMO, but he also would not of put up the same type of numbers as he did as a Dolphin. I think Marino is considered the greatest passer of all-time, but it's too difficult of arguement that he's the greatest Qb of all-time, IMO.

it's a hypothetical question.

They gave a hypothetical answer.

Why get so worked up? Seriously

Just a stat for you guys.

The percentage of times that marino let go of the ball and threw a pick is only .5% higher than when Montana let go of the ball.

Dan Marino 4967-8358 (59.4 Completion Percentage)
420 TDS
252 INTS

Dan basically threw a pick 3% of the time he let go of the ball

Joe Montana 3409-5391 (63.2 Completion Percentage)
273 TDs
139 INTS

Joe basically threw a pick 2.5% of the time he let go of the ball

So his argument of Dan throwing too many INTs to win the Bowl in San Fran is nuts.

And for those that think it is being sensitive, screw off. This is Dan's weekend and there is no reason in the world to bash him in anyway. These two nimrods did it anyway and need to be called out for it.

I can't express how mad I am too hear about all these sports casters and stations talking trash saying Marino never won a superbowl. Can we please bring him out of retirement and win it this year to shut these critics the h*ll up. I would further like to say that not in my opinion but fact that if a player holds most records for a position wouldnt he be considered the best. He may not be the best player of all time but definately best QB of all time enough said on this thread before I break my g*dd*mn keyboard. HE IS THE BEST QB EVER. IF YOU DISAGREE CHECK THE STATS.:fire: :sr23:

At least all of us know how great Marino was as a QB! And Remember, Young worked for ESPN. This is like having your best buddy QB going to the HOF. They are all his Buds. They are not Cool enough to have hung out with the great Marino for a weekend!!! Maybe they are mad he never signed on to work w/ ESPN!!! :goof:

Young still does work for ESPN

ha montana on the dolphins equals 0 super bowls and probably in 15 years he played at least 5 or 6 losing seasons marino is what made us go from sorry to good and from good to better and better to excellent team marino did that all byhimself montana or no other qb can say that

Don't fret what those morons say. Skip Bayless is the most hate-able guy in all of sports TV. I am a die-hard IL basketball fan. This year, even when they were 29-0, he would bash them on Cold Pizza for playing no competition, shooting too many 3's, whatever he could dig up. It's almost as if he tries to take the devils advocate point of view on everything, except he shows no dignity or class in doing so. He's just a complete dimwit. It amazes me how popular these sports writers and reporters have become over the past 3-4 years. Believe me, it won't last. They are pond scum. They don't even make that much money.

Now that is nuts. If Marino was on the 49'ers teams that Montana was on he prob would have brought home more titles than Joe did.
