You got your Miami heat
the team the rest of America hates..
Now you got the miami hurricanes
that the rest of America hates as well
These 2 teams are trending
in the right direction with local fans.
And have used adversity
to ignite the local fan base..

Hurricanes have been a real shocker
you would think with the shapiro allegations
that many of the bandwaggoners
would be jumping off this hasn't happened.
The uncertainty of the program
and fears of a death sentence
has awoken canes fans..

If your a local dolphin fan
odds are more than 50 %
you like the canes..
While the dolphins are in chaos
it is a blessing to have UM
looking tough with all its facing.

More subtle signs that the dolphins
are losing ground with fans..
While shopping at my local Winn Dixie today
you could see hurricane balloons everywhere
Where are the dolphin balloons and marlin balloons?
Winn Dixie is not exactly
a mom and pop grocery..
They going to carry products
that make them money..

Build a winner and the fans will come
at least give the fans a reason to believe..

i don't live in Florida, but i spend plenty of time their, and i know that when the heat suck absolutely no one cares about them

when the dolphins are going through tough times, like they are now, people still care about them. that is why everyone is complaining about the problems, because they care, they are just frustrated.

when the heat stink it up, no one gives a ****.

I've been a die hard Dolfan from a very young age. Living in D.C, it's kind of cool rooting for a random team like the Dolphins. Even if we suck, I still feel like it's my team (although I know it's not) again'st the world. So **** everybody, my team's gonna be good one day and I'm gonna S in the faces of the fakes that come along then.

I'm looking more forward to the Hurricanes game than the dolphins game.

Don't care about the Hurricanes. They might even get the death penalty, not likely, but still remains a possibility.

Don't care about the Heat. They tried to buy a championship and failed to deliver. On top of that the 2011-2012 season might not happen.

Don't care about the Marlins. In fact, no one really cares about the Marlins. They had a game recently where the attendance was 347 fans.

I do like the Panthers and they are my NHL team. However, they have the longest playoff drought in the NHL and have been mostly irrelevant.

The Dolphins could use the Canes swagger and leadership (now) and the Heat's front office (Riley is a genius). As far as the Marlins and Panthers ... well you cann't have everything.

If the local fans are turning to the Heat and away from the Dolphins that fast that says something about the fan base down there. Just to clarify I am not bashing the long time Heat fans for being more excited about the Heat than the Dolphins, but I am criticizing the people who didn't care and now all of a sudden act like Heat diehards.

The MARLINS suck major league Moosec*"k. The PANTHERS suck major league Moosec*"k. The HEAT are a disappointment, and will continue to be so, until they get a for-real Point Guard and a for-real Center. And the U hasn't fielded a solid team in almost a decade, and doesn't look any better today. QED.

If fan support for THOSE TEAMS is lacking and/or transient, it may be because: (1) The MARLINS dismantled a championship team twice, for money. (2) The PANTHERS dismantled an NHL Stanley Cup Finals team, for money. (3) The "U" acts like a major league dumbbell, and has looked for a cheap "quick fix" for too long! They've lost their "edge", and can't seem to find it: "Quarterback U" ain't "Quarterback U" no mo', people...but losers beget losers, for sure! And (4) The HEAT are d**k once the lights go out, the glitz fades, and the street cleaners sweep up the "ticker tape" after the season ends w/o a real "ticker tape parade". And for SO VERY MUCH MONEY!!! (Maybe they should've gone after NOWISKY (sp?) and a defensively solid , true "point guard", instead of LeBRON the choker)

I guess Media glitz is as much an illusion as a Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck cartoon...or maybe a POPEYE cartoon: a can of spinach (spinach=money) doesn't make you God in the real world.

If your a fan of both and also the UM as I am that's alot of teams to support full time (attendance of games)

One team goes to the finals. One team is 1 and 11 at home.

Were would you spend your money ?

When the Heat first got here I had season tickets to the Fins and Heat.

Never missed a Dolphin game. Gave the Heat tickets to employees.

When you're hot your hot .... when your not your not.

I have no problem with that. The Heat just seem to all of a sudden have a huge fanbase when I remember the 90s when nobody would admit to being a heat fan. It's not people like you that are the problem. With all the transplants in Miami it has turned into a fair weather city. Or at least that's what it looks like from an outside perspective. I know there are diehard fans of both teams, but there are a lot more fans who just want to jump on whoever is playing best and ride that bandwagon until that team starts struggling.

Speak for yourself. You know what the difference is between the Fins and the Heat? The Heat rarely "stink it up." They consistently have had winning seasons since they came into the NBA.
not trying to defend the dolphins ineptitude over the past decade plus, but you can not compare a football team to a basketball team really.

in basketball, usually all u need is 1 real good player and a bunch of solid players and u will be competitive every year. football it takes a lot more.

so its not surprising that the heat ''rarely'' stink it up.

And despite the dolphins ineptitude over the past decade, they are still a more successful franchise than the heat will ever be.

We like a good product.

Why waste money on a bad product just to make the out of towners and Tony Supporters happy?
