Dude, you have no idea what you are talking about!
First off, its HASLEM, not Haslett!
Second, IT WAS THEIR FIRST YEAR TOGETHER! You take two of the top three players in the world, who predominantly dominate the ball, one of the top PFs in the game, and overall, a brand new roster, and most of the time, they wont make it to within two wins of a championship. You dont think this team will get better? Are you on crack? Players will want to play for the Heat, and they will take less money to do so. The Heat have the main pieces already, and Riley is far from done with this team. He was the only one with enough balls to do what he did, and when all is said and done, they will be hanging a couple of banners in the rafters.
Most experts didnt have them going to the Finals, or even beating the Bulls. And that was evident after the whopping the Bulls game them in Game 1. But when you have a Wade and James, you are never out of anything. They dominated the Celtics, and they took it to the Bulls as well. If it wasnt for a horrible 4th quarter in game two of the Finals, the Heat probably win the title in YEAR ONE! So if they were that good in YEAR ONE, with the big three, and not much else, how much better will they be when Riles adds pieces. Not only that, but when the season starts eventually, Miller will be 100%, Haslem will be 100%, and we will get to see Pittman worked into the rotation, as well as Cole. They will only get better!
You're the one who's full of it. You say "if it wasn't for..."??? And if they had p*ss**s, they'd make a fortune working 7th Avenue, N.Y. City. The only thing you got right was the misspelling of HASLETT's name . (Sorry about that) The HEAT are full of dormant "mediocrities" who will always be so, even if they wake up. Improvement? Ha! I place more trust in PARCELLS' old line about how they won't bite when grown up if they didn't bite as pups. Everyone has a history, and the HEAT's mediocrities are no different. If they can't "bite" by now,...!!! I mean, all the HEAT needed was for a "point guard"-type to step up, or for a C to step up and become the "Secretary of Defense" and/or the "Chairman of the Boards". Scoring? Not really needed.
As a footnote, and as to LeBRON, has anyone noticed how often he seems to choke against topshelf competition in "crunch time"? It seemed like MICHAEL NEVER DID. Maybe MIAMI should've gone after NOWISKY (sp?) and a for-real C. At least he's clutch...and some boards would really be nice.
