Mort Report on ESPN News

Good Friggin' point.

AJ is NOT the problem. The Oline is. Chambers admitted that the INt returned for a touchdown was more his fault than AJ's. Granted AJ struggled, but the kid is definitely our future. Sam Madison is dead wrong here. And he expects us to go back to Jay Fiedler? No thanks. I'd rather struggle through AJ"s growing pains than through Jay Fiedler's excruciating passes.

We will be getting back a ton of players this week, we're facing another rookie QB and our Oline might be upgraded - provided DW opens his eyes. McIntosh and Carey on the corners will be a big improvement.

This is a must win this week mainly for confidence's sake. If we can pull out a W, it will help heading into the New York game. A loss to the Steelers and it will be very difficult to beat the Jets.

Go Phins. I still believe in you...

Mort didnt not once mentioned how our OL sucked bad. he just talked about AJ. you seriously have to wonder are these guys really watching the whole game or just bits & pieces.

Like it or not, Jay is the heart of an otherwise poor offense.

:shakeno:

You are right, Jay IS the heart of a poor offense.
He would be the heart of any teams poor offense.

i dont think zack thomas likes it to much by seeing the look on his face when the O was on the field in like the 3rd or 4th qtr

...i really question how Mort managed to get this information, and for that matter how true it is. It could be one of those quotes that get completley overblown as well.

Mort also made a guarantee that Steve Spurrier was coming to Miami in 2004... He's lost all creds with me after that...

Thats a bunch of BS ! Fiedler didnt look like he was getting away much against the Titans. He was getting pounded and making bad throws. Stick with AJ and lets see what the kid has and see if we need to look elsewhere or not for next year, because I would almost guarantee Fiedler wont be back at all. The defense needs to shut up and get on the O-line if anything for not giving him time to throw the ball. And Dave for not using the shotgun !

Our oline may be the problem but until they are able to gel, if possible, then Fiedler is much better rollin out of the pocket. Feeley has the arm but what little good does it do when you only have 2 sec. to throw the ball??? Teams reviewing the Cincy game are gonna see that our line is weak and Feeley throws the ball up everytime he gets pressure.

AJ needs to get his snaps in & best way is for him to learn from playing in real games. we would probably see more shotgun formations next wk. this should help AJ with a few more secs in throwing.

The D can talk all they want when they dont give up 100 yards to Brown in game 1 and a last minute winning drive to Cinci's O.

At one time you could talk about the athletic ability Fiedler brought to the position, but against Tennessee, he looked like a stiff, old quarterback on his last legs. If the ability to roll out (which I don't think he hardly did against Tennessee) and make plays leaves him, he's really useless because we already know his arm is weak and he can't even throw to one side of the field.

Hey, I feel for Miami's defensive players, because if the Dolphins go with Feeley, it is like they are saying, "We're going to go through growing pains, and we may take our share of losses but we want to see if Feeley can play or not." So Miami's aging defense only gets older as this season is basically used as a rebuilding time with so many new offensive players.

But going with Feeley is the right move. Everyone knows Fiedler's limitations. This team wouldn't make the playoffs with Fiedler as QB, and it won't make the playoffs again as long as Wanny is head coach.

Cant fault the D in the Cincy game. They did their job...they held their opponent's offense to only 9 points. Besides, the 20 yd pass the D gave up to put Cincy in FG range was completed against our #5 corner, because our #1, #3, and #4 corners were all injured.

Here's a story: Last week, a Dolphins player said (a) everyone on the team knows tackle Wade Smith can't play a lick, a fact again underscored by Cincinnati; (b) this offensive line might be worse than last year -- even though four of last year's linemen aren't in the league anymore -- and (c) second-year linebacker Eddie Moore is only on the team as an unheard-of eighth linebacker so as not to cause another public relations storm for Wannstedt, who wasted a second-round pick on him.

"It's a joke," the player said.

This is BS.......No player talked to Mort....Period...think about it....what opportunity did a Dolphin player have to talk to mort? Do any of actually believe that some Dolphin players called Mort in PHILADELPHIA to spread this rumor? Sounds like Mort made this one up.
Exactly! Geeze, this is Mort we're talking about here. He is not exactly close to being a paragon of accurate insider info, based on the countless numbers of BS reports he has put out over his time at espn. If any of us regular folks made as many mistakes on our jobs as Mort does, we'd be standing in an unemployment line somewhere.
