Mort said nfl wants to restore once proud franchise, says ireland is gone

When have a attractive team too.

Good D, young high potential qb, and good weapons.

Gruden could work his magic in this team..

I can live with losing Ireland, however, I'd like Philbin to stick around. Were a playoff/super bowl contender next year with Philbin, without it's rebuild again. Philbin could be saved because of he came from Green Bay (a model the NFL likes).

I think the man deserves a second chance provided nothing else damaging occurs.

Once again, I bring up Rothlisberger as far as a coach is concerned. Why is this his fault if indeed he dealt with it according to the league. This needs to come out if true but it wont because people have an agenda. all sides do.

But Ross trumps all and Ross will end up making wrong decision IMO. If he gets rid of Ireland tommorrow, step in right direction. If he kills it all, then he becomes the new scapegoat when the team fails. You heard it here first.

Finheaven is also predictable.

Be careful what you wish for.
The NFL will NEVER put the best interest of the Dolphins franchise first as long as Kraft owns the Pats.
Goodell is his lap dog.
This whole saga is a journey into the absurd.

i wld like to see a change but lets bring in someone that has experience as a head coach in the NFL.a proven guyas GM

You mean someone like a Jimmy Johnson or Bill Parcells. I hear Randy Mueller and Rick Spielman may be available......oh wait.

If the NFL is so concerned w. the future of the Phins, why have so many game-turning calls gone against the Phins -- repeatedly?

Is this the NFL's subtle way of trying to get Ireland and Philbin fired?

Seems to me like all the NFL would have to do is call games for the Phins like they do for everyone else and this team is 6-2. And Martin is probably still on the team -- less stress, which he couldn't handle. And cracked.

we've done that before. It doesnt work apparently. They become bad guys to media as well. They lose, all hell breaks lose.

Say it again, you move out of Miami, things change for better. everything gets a little easier. South Fla. media is one big dolphin hater. its been proven over time. Omar does not like dolphins. Why is he the beat writer?

In buffalo, sportscaster are all pro buffalo regardless of what happens.

Or make it in his own image...which is ussually what happens. The believe in the QB could mean everything though.

but why do people asume Gruden when he turned down an opportunity here before? He likes his gig on MNF.

I am not a Ireland basher, but it's time he goes. He's far too divisive. At this point I just hope we can keep Philbin.

If these guys are fired, then the Dolphins office is made of straws.

How did Ray Lewis and his team get over his alleged involvement with a murder?

Yeah, this is really way BEYOND ridiculous at this point.

The Pats have a player that is in jail for murder possibly for much worst, look at what has happened to them the past ten years.

Look at what the Saints did.

Now look at Martin's father sliming the Dolphin's and the NFL for basically what amounts to the EXACT same
type of cursing that goes on in EVERY play ground & basketball court in the USA.

The team should be changed if they do not WIN but not because of the Martin fiasco.

The league is full of itself - This is their mess - they league condoned hazing and bullying forever.

Its like someone in the NHL got in a fist fight on the ice and got killed by a punch - and now all of sudden the NHL becomes concerned about fighting on the ice. That's beyond stupid. The analogy works perfectly - the NFL is an insiders club - a fraternity and the ring masters are the front offices of the NFL.

This was their baby to haze players or to turn a blind eye to it for decades - for them to turn around and start talking about their desire to see this franchise be restored to something is beyond absurd. The league front offices need to first and foremost come out and claim full responsibility for setting up each and every NFL player for decades for this kind of hazing and soft bullying.

And they need to check their imbalanced officiated for absurd calls that work in "elite" players advantage. Stop robbing the Dolphins on the field - if they do that then I will believe they have some modicum of respect for our organization.

Their hot air lip service to some how "cleaning up" our organization needed to be met by a stern **** you from our organization. The NFL needs to clean up their house so that the players stop getting a message from the league that hazing is to be condoned and expected from the league.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it!

Most of us here have been quietly expecting Ireland to be gone and maybe Philbin also. Whatever happens it will be interesting to see what approach is taken for the future. For example, if a new GM and HC is brought in will they want to keep many of the core players are very good and build around them making for a quicker chance to win. Or, do they trade most of that talent for draft picks to acquire new young players that they can create a fresh culture for the franchise.
