Mort said nfl wants to restore once proud franchise, says ireland is gone

I have always hated how Ross divided the business and football side of the organization.

Mike Silver also said Joe Philbin is unlikely to survive as well.

Wow philbin too? Makes sense I new gm is going to want his own guy.

Prepare for Carl Peterson.

Not saying he's wrong or it's not appropriate, but from a perspective sake, as Parcells' toady, and recent apologist funnelling untruths thru him for a dosage of "it's not my fault" history revision when The Rancid Tuna still had an idea of branding himself as a traveling "Franchise Rebuilder," with a vested interest, Mort's got a dog in this fight and as such, if he's got an independent "scoop" he's not to be trusted.

Didn't know that....I knew they could apply pressure to make a change, but didn't know they could actually force a team to make changes...protect the shield.

NO!!! That is not what I am saying. The owner can ask the NFL to hire a firm to help make a front office of qualified people. Many owners can take advantage of that. I am not sure the commish can fire GM's and coaches outright. I suppose he could, but I bet he would suspend or fine....Gregg Williams was banned for a year as example.

Not for anything, but I'm hard-pressed to understand how the NFL has jurisdictional authority over organizational structure. I want heads to roll in Miami as much as anyone but I've never heard even a hint ever before that the league has the power to reorganize a team's management hierarchy. I understand that they can toss people out of the league, but the phrase "organizational structure" implies more than just that, at least to my ears. On the other hand, it may have just been a poor choice of words.

That 2nd round pick on Martin, finally pays off if Ireland is gone. Phillibin can go to for all I care, he has not impressed me one bit.

They don't. Everybody just jumping to conclusions because they want everyone fired.

I would bet they'll strip us of every pick for 5 years...JFK but you know that's coming.

Can we just be done with them now. No need to let them hang out with the team auditioning for their next job

YES!

but RI, Phlibin, and Trurner will pay and are paying a hefty price -> say good bye to acquiring any top FAs if the franchise cannot even attempt to defend RI who has become the scapegoat

No, it is absolutely true that the NFL has a program in place to headhunt for front offices. I first heard about this years ago, in connection with the Oakland Raiders, I think.

The NFL absolutely 100% has a system in place that allows a team owner to say "Hey, please help me fill my front office with people who aren't Jeff Ireland" and the league will come in and do just that. This is absolutely a real thing. I believe it was put in place primarily for expansion teams.
