Mort said nfl wants to restore once proud franchise, says ireland is gone

How embarrassing if the league has to come in and do our owners job!

I don't think that part is embarrassing. I think this whole situation is very embarrassing, but if Ross cleans house and goes to the NFL and works with them to put a better structure in place with better people? Uh, that part doesn't embarrass me.

PFT has a story now that claims Ross is "apopleptic" with the situation. That's a good word. I think I've actually said that's how he should feel, so maybe his behind the scenes PR guys are reading my posts.

Ireland and Philbin are ****ing toast. Everyone is toast. Get ready for the Gruden boys.

Check that- THAT'S the best thing I've read all week. 'Apoplectic' is about how I feel about the whole thing too, so I'm glad the owner feels the same way since he's the only one that can actually change anything.

The NFL wants to restore the once proud Miami Dolphins franchise? Perfect! This means that from now on all questionable calls will go our way and we will have rules invented for us so that we don't lose meaningful games anymore. Sounds good, I'm in.

The NFL won't push it that far with the Patriots still around.

So is the nfl going to hold his hand on every big decision? Ross just shows more and more he is in over his head.

What makes you think the NFL is better at building football teams than anybody else? What if we end up going to the playoffs and actually win a playoff game or 2? Then what, fire everyone and hope we replace our second year head coach who actually brought us to the playoffs...

Let me put it this way, Steve Ross is currently in the middle of the biggest commercial real estate development project in history.

You have any idea how bad this makes him look? It is going to be an apocalypse in Davie after the NFL report is finalized.

A couple of scenarios will play out. Everyone will stay put or people will be put in place that are far worse than what we have now. Be prepared.

Yeah not very inspiring to investors that you turned your billion dollar franchise into a freak ridden circus!

No, it is absolutely true that the NFL has a program in place to headhunt for front offices. I first heard about this years ago, in connection with the Oakland Raiders, I think.

The NFL absolutely 100% has a system in place that allows a team owner to say "Hey, please help me fill my front office with people who aren't Jeff Ireland" and the league will come in and do just that. This is absolutely a real thing. I believe it was put in place primarily for expansion teams.

Okay, but they have to be asked to do that, yes? They can't just come in and say to an owner, "We're reorganizing your team whether you like it or not." True?

Man, if our franchise would have only cheated, or had a player kill someone, we'd be OK.

No but the fact that this got leaked tells me somebody has already been contacted about it, IMO.

Yes. It is in place in case of circumstances were in emergency a team cannot fill its FO and coaching needs. There was concern when Al Davis died there would be a void and they would need to step in.

Ross "apoplectic."

But like they said, winning can change a lot.

But either way, I won't be sorry to see people go. Ross is an astute business man and a no nonsense guy. He doesn't put up with incompetence, which is why he got on a plane to get Harbaugh when Sparano proved he couldn't do the job.

Martin is Ireland's pick, which turned out to be a disaster.
Incognito is both Ireland and Philbin's abortion.
The jury is out on Tannehill.
We don't have a winning record.

Those are the facts.

I expect an entirely new regime next year, thank the lord. But I am confused about something, the LEAGUE wants this done? On what authority can the league dictated organizational moves like this?
