Mortenson says Andy Reid is on hot seat

your always preaching the past, and how it was in past years..... get with it bud ! You say "the proof is in the record" .... Hello, McFly ? He's about to go 1-5 with the so called dreamteam.... can you defend that ?

If he was the jets coach, you certainly wouldnt be singing his praises like this. Eagles fans are fed up and would pay you to take him.

We want to win a superbowl, like any other team. Hiring a coach that almost got a ring 10 years ago isnt the slam dunk yall are making it out to be. Sure its an upgrade from Sparano, and our offense would indeed improve over time. But is that enough ? This is miami, and we have to fight it out with teams in the north east. We need a Saban or a coughlin type, to maintain a blue-collar work ethic.

They are 1-3, how is he about to go 1-5? they are a couple of plays away from being 3-1 or even 4-0. It's not like they have been blown out every week, they are making mistakes and finding ways to lose but this is a talented team w/ a bunch of new parts.

Eagles fans are spoiled, before reid they won 2 playoff games btw '81 and '98. of course you want to win a SB but they are consistently one of the teams that has a chance nearly every year and reid is the biggest reason why.

I didn't say you would win a SB w/ reid but he'd make you into a contender and you haven't ben a legit SB contender in about 17 years so that would be better than what you are going through now, right?

Reid is interesting because he has shown a willingness to change his offense a bit to play to his teams strengths. Yes they have always been more of a passing team than a running team, but he changes how he calls plays. THe Eagles were not much of a vertical passing team until Jackson, Maclin, and Celek came to the team. With guys like Shady and Duece Staley he did do some power running, while when he had Westbrook he did different things to get the ball in his hands.

Plus, he does find talent in the drafts and gets results with mediocre talent (he went to 4 straight NFC Championship games with James Thrash and Todd Pinkston as his WRs). Plus, his QBs always tend to perform well when they have to start; McNabb, Feeley, Garcia, Vick.

I don't know if he'd take us over the top, but if we wanted to start fresh with a new offense and QB, he'd be the right guy to put us in the right direction. And as a resident of PA, I can tell you that Reid does get a lot of unfair criticisms. Sure, he went the cheap route naming his OL coach the DC, but he does win games.
