I know there were plays that meant more to the team's success, but nothing, absolutely nothing is as memorable for me as Leon Lett's blunder and the ensuing recovery in that game. Maybe because it was Thanksgiving, maybe because it was so absurd. Probablly both.
Those are truly awesome plays and immediately came to mind.
Another one I haven't seen mentioned was the Thanksgiving day Leon Lett play. Lett was clueless about the rules while several Dolphins huddled around the flopping ball just hoping some unprepared Cowboy would touch it. Jimmy Johnson and Jerry Jones were starting to head over and pay their respects ... and all of a sudden, we snatched victory from the jaws of defeat on a snowy Dallas field in front of a national television audience. That was a nice Thanksgiving.
I was on a two week notice at work and this game was played on the Sunday before I was to start my new job.
I had bet a guy at work a nice amount of money.
My parents were here with my wife and my kids and it was as exciting as it could get. I was over joyed they won and I won the bet.
I went back to the old job on Monday to collect and could not find the guy.
So, I left a note on his car with my mailing address and phone number so he could pay me.
I never saw one cent from that piece of ****.
