We all know we need a RT and OG, and then there are the upgrades at RB, TE, WR, LB, S, CB, and kick returner which have been mentioned by many. IMO, we will be Lucky to get 2 , possibly 3 players from the draft to come in and make some impact this year.

So, going with that, you have 3 positions to fill from the draft, and the rest from FA or, you can chose to stay with what we have at a position or two. The forum appears split many different ways on this.

How would you split the 3 from the draft vs FA?

Upgrades at te, wr, safety and cb? I guess we are not going to let last year's rookie show what they have learned and replace them with more rookies and hope they don't have any growing pains?

Three to fill in the draft...running back, preferably a big back like Hyde or Hill. Two offensive linemen and take a 3rd day flier on someone like Dri Archer or D'Anthony Thomas to help not only in the return game but on offense as well.

Draft? BPA.

Fill in the rest with FA.

When we get to #19 there's a good chance that there will be an Ebron, Pryor, Martin, etc, who will all be rated about equally. I can't see BPA coming into play here. It will come down to position. If we don't go OT, I think we have to in the second. The third round is a toss up with BPA coming int play. JMO

Depending on how Miami draft board is set up, Ebron, Pryor and Martin will be the BPA.

We don't have any 2nd year guys at S or WR. TE has been posted for a seam threat to go with Clay, and CB as well.

Actually we do in safety Jordan Kovacs who played mostly special teams and Ryan Spadola who I think spent most of his first year on the practice squad. Don't get me wrong, I think we can upgrade from these two but we have enough experience at those positions to not have to draft one of those position early.

Of course fans want a seam threat te to pair with Clay. If we do draft someone like Ebron, we better hope Sims comes around as a blocker because he will be needed more than ever as an inline blocker.

I'm thinking the same, and leaning towards Pryor.
I like Pryor...but I just dont see them taking a S in the first. They signed Delmas to start...and yes he is injury prone and on a 1 year deal and yes they need another S. But as a new GM you dont draft a first round safety to sit the bench unless you want to be crucified. I think they will look at S just not until later.

Ryan Shazier, Ebron, Allen Robinson, or Brandon Cooks. Give me one of these guys

IMHO nothing matters until the OL is fixed. Play makers can not make plays if the OL is hot stinky garbage (like last years Phinz OL). Bottom-line I do not care how many offensive linemen the Phinz draft this year or what round, just fix the OL and make them good so our play makers can make plays. It's just basic football 101 :-)

Why does everyone assume the draft will produce only 2 guys who will contribute? Because the last few drafts have done that? Guess what, different guys drafting. If the needs are as pressing as everyone says there is no reason to think this draft, a deep draft, can't produce contributors from the first 4 rounds, and possibly after. Is that an optimistic view? Sure, but let's not automatically assume it can't be done.

Agreed. I'm good with what we have at TE, and belive Sims will take a big step up this year.

I said 2 or possibly 3, which is fair, and based on past success, as optimistic as you are.

2 olinemen, playmaking defender (LB or DB), offensive playmaker (RB or TE)

That's my first 4 picks but not in that order. Maybe not all starting but at least key contributors.
