We all know we need a RT and OG, and then there are the upgrades at RB, TE, WR, LB, S, CB, and kick returner which have been mentioned by many. IMO, we will be Lucky to get 2 , possibly 3 players from the draft to come in and make some impact this year.
So, going with that, you have 3 positions to fill from the draft, and the rest from FA or, you can chose to stay with what we have at a position or two. The forum appears split many different ways on this.
How would you split the 3 from the draft vs FA?
IMHO nothing matters until the OL is fixed. Play makers can not make plays if the OL is hot stinky garage (like last years Phinz OL). Bottom-line I do not care how many offensive linemen the Phinz draft this year or what round, just fix the OL and make them good so our play makers can make plays. It's just basic football 101 :-)
We are fine at WR. Matthews played well last yr and Gibson should be back. No way we should spend an early pick on a WR.
How do you figure? Who on our team is a play maker WR? Scoreboard is what counts and we have no one who is a treat. Wallace is just good as a decoy.
I'm so tired of watching year after year going after linemen and LB's. Where has that got us for putting points on the board?
do you guys think willie colon whose coming off a major injury would be a good low cost high potential reward signing to play guard or T?
IMO this team needs three key players; ROT, run stuffing LB and a seem/red zone threat. I don't care how it's done but those are the three positions that will either really help or really hurt the Fins this year.
TE and WR are luxuries the way I see it, With Dustin Keller coming back and Sims in his second yr with Clay coming into his own I wouldn't draft a TE, I would draft a RB late and pick up a vet and let them compete in camp. I would concentrate on OL and LB in the draft then CB hopefully our two rooks from last yr are ready to go and add a vet later this summer....
