Brees doesn't have a big enough arm to be effective in a vertical attack offense.

Ramsey or Ragone, maybe.
 
I can't see going after Brees, I have questions about his desire, He didn't really apply himself to the game until S.D. drafted Rivers. There has to better options than Him????

your defensive secondary is not what it used to be. you have good LBs, but we dont really know what your D-Line will do.

i dont think the fins have a defense that can carry the offense to the playoffs, or even better than 8-8.

as far as coaching goes.... we dont know that eather. a rookie head coach, but also a rokkie head coach who hasnt been a coach in the NFL for several years. he might take a year or 2 to get set. hell, it took J. Gibbs a season to get back in to the game.
 
linehan likes mobile qb's you will see us draft a young scrambling qb from V.TECH,or somebody like arron brooks. don't forget about the offence we're running guys! You have got to have a mobile qb ala(culpepper)because if you have a good running back,and a mobile qb,you can take all the deep shots down feild that you want.Isn't that what this offence is about "streching the field"

5 step drop. if your line cant protect the QB for that amout of time, than i dont think the offensive coordinator will call many plays that have the QB sitting there for that long.

but speed recievers and deep threats spread out a defense.

all you would have to do is send a offensive lineman 5 yards in the back field, and he could be your leading reciever. :lol:

the saints have consistancy underachieved year after year. and to me, A. Borrks "leads" his team to underachievment.

Brooks has made some dumb plays, but so has Brett Favre. Brooks gets a bad wrap for someone who has put up the kind of numbers that he has.
 
I would rather have fielder back than brooks....that is saying a lot.
 
Man that opening thread statement still has my brain swirling. Is it the coffee or what?- Now seriously it would be very ironic and somewhat embarrassing if we gave anything up for Brees when he easily could have been ours if wanny wouldn't have taken control and select a star dime corner who ends up playing on the same team with Brees.--Wait and see how this season plays and then think about 2006.
