This is my draft board on the players I would take, and I will limit it to two players in the rounds even though there are a couple of others I would consider.

1st round:

Justin Smiley OG 6-3 300 Alabama
Michael Clayton WR 6-3 197 LSU

Smiley is the best pure guard in the draft and a player who I believe would come in and start immediately on Miami's offensive line. He would give Miami a very strong, mobile interior line along with James and McKinney. Michael Clayton is a receiver that would add some juice not only to the passing game, but his ability as a downfield blocker will also help Ricky make more long runs. Miami can't go wrong with either one. They both have a great work ethic and will be leaders by example the minute they step onto that field.

3rd round:

Etric Pruitt FS 6-0 198 Southern Mississippi
Adrian Jones OT 6-4 296 Kansas

Pruitt is great value in the third round. He's a force on run defense and has great instincts for coverage. He would challenge immediately for the starting free safety job. Adrian Jones is a very similar prospect to Wade Smith. He's an amazing athlete who needs to add size and strength overall. He's got great footwork and is explosive in the run game. He's a guy who will be a starter down the road and is a player that could eventually project inside to guard. He's a guy who has the ability to play both tackle spots and both guard spots. If Miami doesn't go OL in round 1, they could get a Wade Smith clone in round 3.

4th round:

Kendrick Starling WR 6-0 180 San Jose State
Arnold Parker FS 6-2 213 Utah

Starling is an unknown, but he is a player who can contribute immediately as a return specialist and has a lot of upside as a receiver. Parker is a defensive back with safety size and cornerback skills. He will be a safety in the NFL, is a forceful hitter, and has great speed and range.

6th round:

Ahmad Childress DT 6-4 344 Alabama
Cody Spencer LB 6-0 234 North Texas

Childress is a project, but the 6th round is in the area where you can afford to take on a major project. He has the ability to be a dominating run stuff at the pro level. Cody Spencer is an undersized middle linebacker with great instincts that reminds a lot of Zach Thomas.

7th round:

Derrick Pope LB 5-11 225 Alabama
Patrick Kabongo DT 6-5 320 Nebraska
Casey Bramlett QB 6-3 225 Wyoming
Christian Morton CB 6-1 190 Illinois

Miami has two picks in the 7th. I like the upside of Kabongo, who is a great athlete for his size. I like the instincts and desire that Pope brings to the table. Casey Bramlett is a very accurate passer with an average arm. Christian Morton is a terrific athlete who was once considered a top propsect, but hasn't improved much since his sophomore season.

My first round draft board, (Guys that are likely to be around at 20)

Andrews, DJ Williams, Vilma, Carey.

No escaping it we could do with Oline, but not another guy to add to the mix, someone who will start for 10 years. I think Andrews and Carey can do that for us. I have made it clear recently that I think that we are in need of help at linebacker. The short of it - Seau is on the decline, and greenwoods new contract suggests he may be gone after this year. DJ and Jon are too good to pass up IMO, thats why i rate them higher than Carey, but not Andrews.

I would love for us to draft PK Sam in either the third or fourth, btw.

Still like evans over clayton, his lightning speed trumps his not so great blocking ability, besides we don't have to have three wide receivers that are great at blocking, we also have mcmichael that can block preety good.

His big play ability will effect opposing defenses more then blocking ever could, imo.

KB...
Don't forget Michael Jenkins.............he is very similar to Clayton, except bigger, with more speed, AND can return punts  . They need someone else on the roster to return punts other than Wilkins. Jenkins would be a great #3. If they stay put and don't have another pick until the 3rd and go WR first, Sean Locklear has to figure as well at LG/T. I like Childress at DT, in addition to Matthias Askew. Parker is the type of DB tweener they love, he would be a great addition as a possible dime back.

Ooooh I want to try, either one of these guys will make me happy!...

1st Round.
Andrews, Carey or trade down for Smiley/Snee
There are the few o-lineman that I think we can plug in right now. Carey is a reach at 20 but I have to admit he's got the versatility the Phins love.If Andrews is gone and we're not comfortable with Carey, than Smiley or Snee would be good picks. They are great guards who can step in right away.

3rd Round
Matthias Askew DT not sure if he'll be there when we pick in the 3rd, but if he is we have to at least consider him.

P.K. Sam WR Might be too high to take him, but not sure if he'll last to the 4th. He's got great size (6'3") and speed with good hands. Would fit perfectly in the slot while he continues to learn the game.

Kelly Butler OT If we haven't picked Andrews or Carey then he could be a great fit for RT. He's HUGE...just about 6'8". Could start from day 1.

4th round
Arnold Parker FS I have a feeling this guys going to be great. If we can get him in the 4th then consider it a major steal.

Courtney Watson/Sean Tufts MLB Don't think Courtney will last this long, but if he's there then snatch him. Tufts wouldn't be a bad choice either.

6th Round

Ahmad Childress DT KBISBACK said it best..a project.

Stacy Andrews OT (Only if we don't draft Shawn) Shawn's big bro. He is very raw but is extremely talented. I have a strong feeling he's going to be something special and I hope Spielman knows about him because it would be great to have him on the team. Would even consider him in the 4th, that's how good I think he can be. Some scouts say he can end up being better than Shawn!

7th
BPA or maybe a project QB like Jared Lorenzen The Hefty Lefty, The Pillsbury Throwboy..whatever you want to call him :D Has a strong arm and enough talent for the NFL...just needs to learn to stop making bad decisions and relying on his arm strength to bail him out. Also needs to lose A LOT of weight.

You couldn't have both Lorenzen and Andrews on this team.

There would be no more food left in Miami!

Jorser,

IMO, Clayton is a better route runner and is a more physical player than Jenkins. Despite Jenkins's size, he is an outside receiver that doesn't do well when pressed at the line. He struggles with the press and rounds of his routes. He also doesn't give much effort as a blocker.

The appeal of Jenkins is his ability to return punts.

Plus the fact that he is a Buckeye, like Boston.

At 6-4, I doubt you will see Jenkins returning punts at the pro level.

I think we need to draft LB in the 3rd round if we take OL with our first. If one of our LB's get hurt where is the depth and you can get a guy in the third that could step in and fill that added depth

I think he's too big of a target to hit to be on punt returns.

I could agree with that, although a player with the strength to break tackles, vision, cutting ability, and speed, may not be hindered by lack of prototypical smurf height. I think that it would provide them with depth at PR. There is no one behind Wilkins that is expected to make the team. Marion is gone and Buckley is unsigned. I suppose Minor would be the #2 right now, but if he got hurt it would affect us at KR as well. I am sure if I think long enough about it I will think of a player who is tall and has been successful retuning punts. Not to compare Randy Moss to Jenkins, but if Moss was returning a punt against you, would you not worry about him because he is tall?

One thing about Moss as a PR. You know he will go down at the slight hint of a big hit. I wouldn't worry much about him not because of his height, but because he is a player that is more adept at running by people. Not weaving his way through them.

I still like Evans or Smiley in round one but the guy I wish could be there is Wilfork.
In round 3 I like Clarke and Locklear too.
I like Rod Davis in round 4 and Hickman in round 6.

Ozzy rules!!
