"My man Chad Henne was on fire"

Its called an upset, happens every year in all sports. Maybe you missed the 11 games Clevland lost, or their 31 ranked offense. I hope the guy does wonders here with our offense, but to pick out one game and pound your chest about it proves nothing. Sometimes its just the right mix or situation that turns things around, lets just hope it happens here and happens soon. I will believe it when i see it.

Everyone loves that 1% rule.

Soooooo...

Remember after the third preseason game when I declared that this was an 8 - 8 team...9 - 7 at best? And everyone jumped my ****.

"You can't tell anything from preseason games that's ridiculous!"

And I then pointed out all the things wrong I seen with the team...and those SAME things were the SAME problems we have until the final snap in the final week of the final game?

But now, after a ****ing scrimmage perhaps we shouldn't write Chad Henne off?

Oooooh you homers!

This isn't about not "writing Chad Henne off" . . . this is about giving a guy who had a bad 2010 a chance to improve on that. The guy has done everything possible to put confidence in his team and the fanbase during the offseason. He took a leadership role of the offense, with a new playbook. He taught the playbook to the entire offense when coaches couldn't communicate with the team. He WANT'S to improve. He hasn't given up.

As far as getting "wet" over a solid practice by Henne . . . sure beats the flood the haters have been producing everytime Henne doesn't complete a pass in practice, in a new system, less than a week of being in camp.

We heard all offseason how Henne sucks, cut Henne, blah, blah . . . it is time for some damn football, and if he is the guy to lead us at QB, got damn it let's atleast see what he can do in a new system without having a hissy fit everytime he makes a mistake. It isn't about converting somebody into a guy who believe Henne isn't good enough or telling the non believers he is good enough . . . nobody can say they haven't seen promise from Henne, the guy is just inconsistent as hell and was hampered by a poor offensive system. Did he help himself in 2010, hell no, but I stick it out with Henne before I give up any picks for another hand me down QB.

ALso....did I actually hear they are working out of the shotgun? What type of football is that? Seems a bit odd to have the qb so far away from the center.

Well said KD. All last year, my biggest issue with the offense was Dan Henning, I was calling (no, SCREAMING) for his removal. I alledged Henning as a major issue with Henne's development. I saw some glimpses of potential in him, I was not ready to give up on Henne just yet, but the playcalling appeared to be a much bigger issue to me last year. I am not saying Henning is to blame completely, Henne has his flaws too, but first and foremost I believe Henning had to be removed from this equation and see what Henne can do in another system. When there was talk about Orton, I was in favor of bringing in Orton, because the addition of Orton , would improve depth, and create competition for Henne. I am just glad Jeff Ireland did not act with haste, and sell the farm to bring Orton in.

One thing that appears positive, Henne is stringing together good practices. When is the last time we could say that about Henne....NEVER. Yes, I know we are talking about practice, but it has to start from somewhere, and practice is the perfect place to begin. We'll see if this streak of good practices will eventually translate into real game situations, I sure hope so, for my Fins sake.

Everyone getting wet over a good practice from Henne. Probably the only fans in the league excited over a "successful" practice by their projected starting QB. At least wait til a preseason game.

Are we calling Henne a franchise QB because of the scrimmage....No. He has a long way to go to show everyone he can handle the starting QB job, but so far he has had 2 straight very good practices, and a great scrimmage against a very talented defense, so for now, yes, it is something to get a bit excited about.

Now if he continues to look sharp in practice, and looks good on Friday, we will AGAIN get excited....Why? Because this is the team we root for, and if Henne succeeds, so will the team, so whether you like Henne or hate Henne, if you are a Dolphin fan, I really hope you are pulling for him to succeed.....even if your part of that idiotic Suck for Luck club.:err:

I hope it works out. I think everyone does. Really this team could be a sleeper if the offense is clicking. We know the D should be nasty.

I am excited that we have more weapons on O..Bush, Clay, Gates, Thomas..plus Marshall and Bess. These are high % completion guys. It is not like we are chucking and praying Gin catches the ball anymore. We are making high % throws to guys with speed, and that is what the offense has been missing.

Oh no, the Dolphin defence sucks, they got lit up by HENNE!! Ahhhhhhhhhhh

Reggie seems to be saying all the right things since coming here. Looks like a real team player. I also hope Henne can continue to improve. I think reggie being on the field will be a huge boost for Henne. A few big plays by Bush should continue to build confidence.

I hope Henne Proves us all wrong, but a practice scrimmage and a real Game... are two 2 different things, I still think i have seen enough games, to say he is a back up QB in the NFL at best.

I agree there. It's great that he is Tweeting support and positive info on the 'Fins, But I am starting to think he is also being paid as the Dolphins PR rep as well. (Joking). He has almost 2 millions twitter followers. (8th among all athletes in the world, and 2nd most among NFL players behind Ocho).

Or perhaps this was a meaningless scrimmage? Lets not get carried away.

You're right!! It's only (agenda) meaningful when he screws up, eh?

I never felt that Orton was a lock to beat out Henne for the starting job and I suspect Ireland feels the same way. That's why they weren't willing to trade away a high pick or negotiate a new deal with Orton for what Orton was asking.
For a mid rd draft pick and resonable contract demand they would have been willing to bring him in to see if he could beat out Henne.

That has pretty much been my feeling. I thought Orton made sense if we got him for a low round draft pick. I thought he was good enough to push and raise Hennes game but if Henne raised his game to the compitition then he was the more physically talented QB and could beat Orton out...

Henning was such a huge issue with this team's struggles last season. I hope they take the handcuffs off of CH this year and just let him play. Bottom line... this is great news to hear from teammates.
